  1. Why aren't they taking these people to the hospital? Nursing homes don't provide real medical care, beyond regular checkups by a visiting doctor, they mainly dispense medication. But when a resident gets really ill they should be transported to Emergency Dept.

  2. I don’t think it’s fair that doctors and nurses are celebrated and thanked at hospitals, yet nurses and doctors are criticized and protested against at nursing homes 🤔

  3. Many if not the majority of people in the US seem to be obese, I wonder if this correlates/contributes to CFR(Case Fatality Rate), very sad situation…

  4. I have a family member working at a facility of this kind. They do not have medical protective gloves – they are wearing the thin clear plastic gloves the person who makes your sandwich uses. They just got masks last week but have no other PP gear. It's good to hear that the situation in these facilities is being revealed. It's really good to hear that the states will now be reporting on the situation. Residents and healthcare providers are all at risk.

  5. How can she say the nursing home failed her mother….while what happened is really sad. She should understand this is new virus new symptoms and the doctors, nurses and paramedic everyone is trying their best.

  6. Our facility has been on lockdown since March 13th. Our sister company..attached has a positive. What👏🏻the👏🏻hell👏🏻. I saw tests at our mall. City here in Utah acting like NORMAL. They HAVE NOT TESTED ONE, NOT ONE HEALTHCARE WORKER!!! I believe they HAVE NOT TESTED RESIDENTS.

On another note…. The lockdown itself is killing the elderly!!! They NEED interaction!

Thank you for allowing me to vent.✔❤

  7. Interesting now that their parents are dead they're going to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Why don't they just take care of their parents at home? Would've avoided all this wouldn't it? There's no such thing as a good nursing home sorry I've been a nurse too long and I've seen too much even the better ones are terrible. Take your loved one home and get them a nurses aide it'll be cheaper in the long run and better for them in the long run you'll have one to one care at home. But then that means you'll have to be involved and there's the problem right there. I took care of my dad for 10 years at home. And I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. My parents took care of me when I was a kid, I felt it was the least I could do for them.

  8. So, what about the news that Covid-19 attacks those who have had flu shots more severely? The residences of elderly care facilities are required to take the flu shot and this last season they even gave the elderly a "super double" flu shot. Where is the investigative journalism on this? Crickets.

  9. This is not right! It’s terrible for these elderly to not be allowed proper care and no family members to visit them and to get a hug from! They are already put in a place where they will live out the rest of their days, they deserve the same medical help everyone else does! And they definitely deserve to have their own family by there side every day! Family can wear masks, gloves and paper gowns!

  10. Of course this virus has been designed to take out the old and the weak. A normal one would not be so selective. I lost my mother in a nursing home just last year in May and I'm so glad she didn't have this to look forward to. My heart go out to all of them and their family's. So now both George and Kaylee tested positive with no symptoms (lucky them) guess they must be super hero's .what disturbs me is that neither one was experiencing symptoms yet they used up valuable test kits I guess because they are better than you and I and DESERVED to get tested while complaining about the lack of them for the rest of us.

  11. I'm still waiting for them to label the common cold a national emergancy. The news make this virus bigger then an actually is.

  12. It certainly shows the weaknesses in our nursing care system that pays minimum wage, doesn't hire enough workers, the pure drudgery for missionary type workers who want to serve the elders to desperate workers who can't get a job somewhere else to addled individuals who can't speak English or pay attention to detail. It's mindnumbing how these companies take advantage of workers at the expense of seniors. The corporate owner or shareholders dictate the environment and the best meaning staff can't overcome the limitations on lack of funds as the higher ups glean the profits. The one's who try to run a clean facility are often priced out by inflated housing costs, taxes, regulations and more. It would help if Congress funded this level of care!

  13. The next group of mass death will be everyone who’s been working at grocery stores. Most without protection for far too long. Sadly all anyone can see is people in scrubs & uniforms. Believe me I was recently in the hospital, I’ve worked at a Nursing home for a decade & have family/friends who are either medical professionals or first responders. They matter SO much. So do all the other “essential workers” and especially those who are repeatedly exposed to non masked customers who ARE NOT social distancing. It’s disturbing how this is being ignored.

Edit; Good on her for filing a suit. I hope she wins and creates change for the staff and residents at all facilities.

  14. The boomers destroyed the economy for the young people now they want the young people to sacrifice thier livelihood for their sake…how rich…I say let them suffer what they brought onto us

  15. Between 20,000 and 40,000 have died from the seasonal flu this year (CDC numbers, US only).
Over 100 were children but the vast majority were seniors.
    Perspective people.

  16. This is ridiculous – there is no excuse. If people's lives are at stake because of a failure on part of medical professionals or nursing home staff, then they are to blame and should be held to the flame for their lack of precaution. These are some of our nation's most vulnerable and they have been failed!

  17. My wife works for a nursing home and this is happening in her place of work and the workers know something was going on but her bosses were trying to hide it and told the employees if they didn't come to work they will be fired even if they tested positive for the virus

  18. seniors in this country have been abused in neglected for years!
NEVER put your loved ones in a nursing home!
I worked in one and left after witnessing the neglect and abuse!

  19. Fucking old people have caused the collapse of our economy because they are at more risk. How about this… anyone with autoimmune disorders or people over the age of 40 are enforced to social distance until 2022

  20. It's just not the patients in the nursing homes, it's caregivers and their families are disposable too without the proper protection, fake information and improper decisions by administration, employers and local authorities. Illinois does not have any idea how many nursing homes affected with covid19.

  21. They need to up the raise big time for anyone in the medical field smh not worth getting this virus for a 2$ raise.

  22. Stop the freakin lawsuit and look in the mirror … the country did not fail you! You failed yourself!! Do I have to quote the famous quote to remind you what it meant to be a responsible HomoSapienCancerSaurus?
