Capitol Police Officer Aquilino Gonell was asked by Rep. Liz Cheney about his experiences during the Capitol riot and if he agreed with how former President Trump characterized rioters. The officer said he was still recovering from what the former president said was “hugs and kisses.”

I'm shocked. My own father doesn't care about any of this. He LITERALLY said: "It's like 9/11. It's over and done with. Tired of hearing about it. Get over it. No big deal, life goes on." Mother is a die-hard Trump & Fox News advocate, despite me demonstrating mountains of evidence that the corporation dumped it's journalistic responsibilities DECADES ago… and rallied around money + extremely anti-U.S. views.
I've had to live with all of this MY ENTIRE LIFE, and I have to say: I'm pretty sick & disappointed. What a disgrace for someone who owes his life to immigrants (we're Italian by heritage).

Trump told the crowd to march and make voices heard peacefully. He did tell them to stop and go home when he found out. He’s not responsible for dumb people riling up other dumb people to do bad things. They did that of their own accord and maybe at the instigation of federal agent entrapment (reporting is digging into that currently). You’re lying to the American people by saying Trump made this happen.
Actually the capitol police egged on the crowd—release more video so people can see all of that. They also let people in and let them roam around. That’s clearly on the video that was captured and the thousands of hours of video would show that more. This is a partisan commission lying and obfuscating the truth. They’re talking to people who already want to impeach Trump again, who are nodding their heads like these guys are heroes. They are coached to say partisan lies (like Officer Sicknick was killed by rioters—another lie; he wasn’t and that has already been determined that he died of an unrelated stroke later), and are even given pre-made, eloquent statements to read that this guy can’t even read clearly because he didn’t write it. Wake up America—this commission is lying and trying to control the narrative because a real investigation will show the Left at bottom of it, manipulating bad actors to hijack a mostly peaceful protest (if not instigate a riot through federal agent entrapment) and rule up some (not all) to do dumb, reckless, and yes wrongly violent things. People should not have done what they did but it was a small portion of the whole crowd. And it was no insurrection. If this was an insurrection, it was a pretty dumb one in which no one had guns nor took over anything in a coordinated way, in which people wandered around in the capitol taking pictures, and in which the only person murdered was Ashli Babbitt (What about her? Tell the truth about her and who killed her.). This is political theater—wake up America.
