17. R.I.P I'm 19 years old and her music raised me. I was so young and when I first heard her music I remember my mom said I told her. “Mama? Is that what an angel sounds like… I think so.” now I sing every day and I would have never started had I never heard her songs. Thank you Aretha your legendary songs will live on.

29. Some of the cruel comments on here are inexcusable. Aretha Franklin is still a human being and it has been reported that she is now in hospice suffering from pancreatic cancer and surviving that usually does not occur. People diagnosed with it usually pass away soon after diagnosis. She was morbidly obese for many years and that is thought to be one of the contributing causes to this type of aggressive cancer but she still deserves to die in peace and with dignity and without being treated like shit with comments made by people who have nothing better to do. I don't understand that.
