This might sound counter-intuitive, but, the fact that we KNOW there are still a (relatively) small # of people who still need to get out is actually a GOOD sign. If the media DID NOT KNOW, it might mean that these people were subject to being abandoned. Or, if the # of people still in need (and peril) was outrageously HIGH (is it?).
Personally, I believe that as many possible efforts that can be put into returning as high a percentage of everyone as is possible ARE being put in (possibly by both sides: U.S. AND Taliban)… but we also all know the facts:
EXPECTING '100%' on nearly anything (especially when it regards OVERSEAS WAR) is extremely rare. Just like people expecting the world to be 100% non-corrupt, or, to hope that 100% of all Earth citizens to be fed, housed and clothed. Or, hey, demanding 100% perfection regarding C19 + viruses + vaccines + masks, _______, etc..
That all said, I TRULY hope that 100% of those who belong back inside U.S. borders actually return (or migrate) to the U.S. No matter who they are. And I hope the entire world learns from all of this… and that EVERYONE will (someday) collectively dismantle all weapons and just stop killing one another. Especially when 'we' (collectively) are our own SOLE hope. Humans. Not 'Americans' nor 'Afghanis' nor 'Chinese/Japanese/__________'

For 20 years America gave democracy, freedom of speech, human rights and equal rights to women. The people become accustomed to these. Suddenly America handed over power to the Taliban who have crushed democracy, freedom of speech and all other human rights. This is a very cruel blow to the Afghan people particulary the young who grew in a democratic society.
The blame must go to the American leaders who did not support the democratically elected government of Afghanistan. They trusted Pakistan and negotiated with the Taliban and signed an agreement with them to hand over power. Pakistan and Taliban convinced the American leaders that the Taliban had become moderate and would rule the country democratically. Trump and Biden must share the blame equally. Trump for negotiating with theTaliban and Biden for not supporting the democratically elected government.
Taliban fighters were taking shelter in Pakistan. When American declared their withdrawal the Taliban fighters and Pakistan soldiers disguised as Taliban crossed into Afghanistan and started taking over the countryside. The Americans knew this was happening but did nothing to stop it. They could have bombed the border from where these people were coming in. That would have stopped them. Also people of Afghanistan would have understood that America supported the elected government.The army and people of Afghaniston thought that Americans support the Taliban so they all surrended to them.
She went to Kabul for a wedding. She knowingly ignored all official pleadings for Americans to leave immediately since the beginning of August. She had plenty of time to leave, but decided that American will send a helicopter to rescue her and her extended families at the last minute This woman and her family are selfish, and have unnecessarily put our military men and women in danger.
