This current executive initiative seems like a step in the right direction, as immigration has been shown to improve national economies, however, it still doesn't begin to address certain issues of immigration or deportation such as traveling. As with any plan, it will take time to reap benefits or see results, but many US immigration plans, including the current order default to having Mexico as a waiting ground for immigrants seeking documents. The reality is that many immigrants from Central American countries risk being deported by the Mexican government. In the future, I think it would be beneficial to consider the implications of immigration orders beyond just the speed at which someone can begin to obtain legal documents.
