This country's justice system doesn't care about justice. They just don't care and rather he just hurry up and die in jail. The gov won't pardon him, his statement let's you know he doesn't care. The state wants an innocent man to die in prison. The Justice system in this country is a damn joke. This whole situation begs the question: What is the point of following the law if an innocent man spends 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit and the justice system refuses to let him out. And the person responsible for the crime admitted to it spent 10 years in prision for it and they are free and the innocent man is still in prison. What is the point of being a law abiding citizen? When the justice system can put an innocent man in prison and throw away the key and forget about him, OFFICIALLY there is no point in being a law abiding citizen because your fucked no matter what you do. That is what the State of Missouri is telling all of it's citizens. The state of Missouri locks up innocent people for decades.
ABC News: Please let Mr. Strickland know I am in deep reverent prayer to God that an immediate release from prison be given to him with 43 years of restitution. This man is clearly innocent and was convicted on false testimony and bias. Even worse, the Prosecution has now proclaimed his innocence and he still sits in prison. Let this man out now so he can spend his days with his family. It's cruel and unusual punishment to keep a man who committed no crime locked away. Reverse this now, please.
Why wouldn't the Governor not sign that legislation. Is he in favor of keeping innocent people in prison for crimes they did not commit. What a duchebag! He is the one who should be put in prison for the next 43 years. The US Constitution says the people have the Right to LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Where is this man's guanteed LIVERTY? Any subsequent law that the Government is relying on to keep this man incarcerated is repugnant the most basic Freedom that the Constitution guarantees. It should hold no force in law and should be ignored by those in position to free this man. That means even the Warden of that prison should release him.
They don't want to release him because the city will have to pay ALOT of money

Based upon a systemically racist court system which forces innocent individuals to accept plea deals; this is what too often happens.
