Wow, how close we come to predicting this in the movie 2010: The year we made contact. We are near war and have to work with the Russian space program. They are not actually in Russia. And their space program is more business now than for the military. In space, there is no place for war. You are fighting a war all the time against space that is trying to kill you in the worst ways possible. You have to work together to survive. There are no nations in space and only really cold and really hot and no air. To make colonies on space stations and other worlds we have to work together. Only with the total combined effort of all nations could colonies be made and work.
