  1. Most people celebrated when Obama won (twice), and it was stated he was the first black US President. Also most people celebrated when Harris was chosen VP, and it was stated she was the first woman, and first black/south asian VP. So what's the problem that we now have the first black female Justice where most are celebrating. MLK would be proud and he has a whole national holiday named after him. US is changing with the times and for the best as it is taking it's God given natural course. some need to get over it.

  2. Well for MOST people it was a lot of pride in what happened when Supreme Court Justice Jackson said that her family has gone from Segregation to the Supreme Court in one generation . Now that was extremely meaningful because it has been such an eventful generation of the whole point and purpose of the civil rights movement, including affirmative action. Everyone knows that the civil rights movement was necessary for institutions such as Harvard, for example, which allows people like Ketanji Brown Jackson to rise without restrictions to really reach her potential – as opposed to the limits that society might put on her for wicked reasons . This moment in history is all there for the whole world to see a really remarkable achievement not only for her and her family, but for the whole United States, a very happy moment.

  3. Can't believe this idiot thinks Jackson deserves her position…tell me why these people have life time positions…I'm brown and I promise you all the more it's about the color of the skin the worse it's going to be for us brown and black regular people..they don't care about us keep clapping for change…we are all going to suffer… it them against us there is no we

  4. She will be confirmed. 53-47 vote included support from all 50 Democratic-voting senators, as well as Republicans Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitt Romney of Utah. Jackson secures more bipartisan backing for Supreme Court nomination as 3 Republicans endorse her in procedural vote. Again, Ketanji Brown Jackson is on track to be confirmed this week and Three Republicans now back her

  5. There have been 120 Supreme Court justices, only five women, only three people of color. So the idea that we're now dealing with some sort of quota for Black women is really kind of crazy and offensive. Crazy and offensive" can best be described in a lot of moments coming from the Republicans. U.S. Circuit Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, age 51, is certainly the best pick with the political momentum behind her which is going to be very strong. She is impeccably qualified for the court (the more educated and with the most experience than the others), and some still may ask why even with this list of facts below:

    1) She has sterling credentials earned at Harvard

    2) Twice confirmed with Republican support – was just confirmed less than a year ago with 53 votes, including three Republicans

    3) She was nominated by Obama to be a district court judge.

    4) She was Confirmed to DC court of appeals in June 2021

    5) Biden elevated her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

    5) Early in her career, she clerked for justice Stephen Breyer

    6) She attained part of her practice experience in the public defender's office

    7) She is the first experienced Federal Public Defender that will serve on the Supreme Court

    8) Ruled on Don McGahn congressional subpoena lawsuit – Ruled in the high-profile dispute between the House Judiciary Committee and former White House counsel Don McGahn, finding in 2019 that McGahn had to comply with the subpoena for testimony.

    9) "Presidents are not kings. This means that they do not have subjects, bound by loyalty or blood, whose destiny they are entitled to control," she wrote. "Rather, in this land of liberty, it is indisputable that employees of the White House work for the people of the United States, and that they take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

    10) She signed opinion ordering release of trump docs to Jan. 6 committee – She also was on the three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit that rejected former President Donald Trump's attempt to keep the National Archives and Records Administration from turning over his White House records to the House select committee investigating the January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol.

Jackson joined the opinion written by Judge Patricia Millett that found Trump "provided no basis for this court to override President Biden's judgment and the agreement and accommodations worked out between the Political Branches over these documents."

The Supreme Court ultimately gave the green-light for the National Archives to give the records to the January 6 committee, declining a request from Mr. Trump to block their release.

    11) Her husband is chief of Gastrointestinal a professor of Surgery

    12) She is related by marriage to Former House Speaker Paul Ryan, a Republican, who offered his "praises" to her character and experience.

  6. How could they disrespect her? Because they are arrogant assholes, and as Sen Whitehouse pointed out, their questions were driven by solely by their dark money donors. They were not the least bit interested in asking questions appropriate to the situation.

  7. Ketanji Jackson lets chil d m0l3 st ers and r4 p i. Sts off the hook. Look up the new york times article that just came out. wake up

  8. There is something terribly, horribly very wrong in this country when a mediocre judge who sanctions child porn, child rape, baby sex torture etc. isn’t instantly disqualified.

  9. I believe the average citizen, Republicans or Democrat, white or black, has MORE respect and understanding for the law and Constitution than any judge or lawyer. Here's why I say that. Because you've shown you have the resume, intelligence and you've already got a lifetime appointment, Who cares if you win or lose? You would have been my HERO of all time if you had broke out of the theatrical straitjacket and just Answer the damn questions! Judge, you're not in any legal jeoipardy you can say what you want and what have you got to lose? Judge, if somebody asks you what a woman is, answer the dumbass question and throw it back in their face. You said you were a debating champ. Show it! Fairness isn't mindlessness. Forget Coney Barrett, Kavanaugh, Ginsburg etc. Be your own person! You would demand nothing less of a lawyer or employee. My epitome of lawyer/judge BS is Clinton smirking "it depends on what the meaning if is is." If we the citizens and you the judge can't communicate with each other anymore, our whole democracy is in trouble. That's why you have senatorial showoff's for hours on end. Because there's no communication, and as far as these hearings they are just a waste of time. I used to see you riding the elevator in the Judiciary Sq building. In your.heart of hearts I know you must feel the same frustration.

  10. She's just not a good candidate, more symbolism and tokenism. Does anyone know her views on women's rights or what are her plans for punishing child predators???? Facts over feelings.

  11. So well said. Thank u Senator Cory again for the courage to speak truth about these darkness in these GOP Senators. The world saw how small minded insecure White men behave. It is time to stop racial discrimination. God created us in different color, shape n size. We r all God children.
