So I have a question: if this administration is thinking to eliminate fossil fuels in the USA, why are refineries asked to pay taxes on roads and bridges no one will use?
Why suspend? That does not sound like a tax free holiday. It sounds like something you still have to pay, but later. Perhaps at an interest? Which will affect gas prices more when the suspension is over. So if the goal is to get us off the roads, transform our purchasing habits, and even what we buy and eat- our economy is tanking and our dollar worthless. How are politicians going to tax the masses when they mess up the economy. Why even tax now? When later no one will have money to tax?
18 cents a gallon isn't going to change anything. Especially when gas is going up 7 cents a day. 18 cents would only cover just over 2 days of price increases.
Get us back to being a net exporter of oil again and watch how fast gas drops

I agree with Manchin. A suspended federal gas is a political stunt with no real benefit. At this point, we are going to suffer for a while, regardless. But the president and the legislature can free up the domestic oil industry to do the job it can do to bring stability to the market.
