DST was the dumbest idea when it was new. "I know, let's cut off a foot from the top of our blankets & sew it to the bottom!" Just Get Up Earlier! Our schedules are pretty much independent of sunlight For Most Proffesions.

I’m all for stopping this absurd tradition of changing the clocks twice a year. But we have to stay on standard time because that is the right time. Why are we so backwards with everything here in America?

Didn't talk about any of the risks with doing this really should of talked with someone who has researched this sort of thing.
They should split the difference between standard time and daylight savings time and then leave it there. Which will make all our lives much better and we won't ever have to worry about changing the clock again
Daylight savings time is a detrimental problem. In traveling it was noted the (Standard time) was far more helpful to health and well being, while the daylight savings time always made a feeling of lack of rest, always behind on meetings, and other critical biological rythms The daylight savings time disrupted so many things and when standard time came around again it was like total relief. It makes no sense for daylight savings time, but to be an unnatural disruption of the heart beat of the humans. Daylight savings time serves no purpose and should be abolished, but standard time should be kept. The Arizonians thrive because they never waiver to the cult of daylight savings malarkey. Once November 2022 comes around the fall back to standard time should be the end of the crazy daylight savings era once and for all.
If DST becomes permanent, does that mean the clock only springs forward each year and never falls back? If it becomes permanent, is it still called "Daylight Time" (as in EDT, CDT, MDT, PDT) or is it just "Time"?
I say great, let's do it! Just one problem: Can I get my hour of sleep back?!
There are huge arguments on either side so it surprises me that none of our elected geniuses could just say "Cut it down the middle by a half hour and then make it permanent". Win-win for everyone. Your kid has less chance to get run over walking to school in the dark morning and people can cut off their A/C off earlier in the day.
Let's face it guys, this is a business decision to get you to work an hour more.
