I love how they're making it out as racism, they just happened to be "black" churches. He did it as a type of tribute to "Black Metal" Its a music subgenre, usually having to do with anti-religious subjects and Satanism. In Norway during the early 90s, church burning went on in due to the large black metal scene at the time. To be fair, I could be making an assumption based on how he looks, but with the long hair, I'm pretty sure this is the reason.
