Second, Chauvin followed department standards.
Third, Floyd died from a drug overdose.
Let’s ask George Floyd if Derek Chauvin should get out on probation. Oh wait, we can’t! Let’s ask George’s family. Let’s ask the jury. Let’s ask millions of people, from every nation, who witnessed this murder with their own eyes. I bet the answer would be unanimous!

My dad was cop 4 30yrs. Now he can't stand them cuz of how much things have changed (sadly mostly bad). When he worked they were a huge part of the community. He used more words than force. Unless needed.

Ok the Chauvin trial was a travesty,witnesses threatened,media manipulation, jurors intimidated, evidence wantonly ignored,however Floyd was experiencing severe fentenyl overdose which causes the victim to suffocate I've seen it happen,Floyd couldn't breath when first encountered he should have been examined from a medical standpoint at that time,the premise that police are so eager to make arrests for promotions,bonuses ,attention etc is a problem in police culture,or sub culture,Chauvin will pay with his life for this,also crowds gathering around police scenes and taunting police causes police to be over whelmed and less able to do there jobs,those cops were wrong but most likely Floyd would have died anyway ,he was overdosing

Chauvin, who is being held in solitary confinement at a Minnesota prison, is scheduled to be sentenced June 25. Although a jury found Chauvin guilty on all three charges he was facing, Minnesota law dictates he will face sentencing only on the most serious charge: second-degree murder.

I get so concerned and exasperated when discussion keeps Deflecting Consequences and Punishment for the Police. Cultural Sensitivity Training, Protocols, De-escalation are all very well and Good. However, these strategies still arent leading the the Kind of Accountability most Afro Americans are demanding. When a cop cold bloodedly murders a (unarmed / non resisting ) citizen, tries to cover up the misdeed and evidence, and when the Courts are still Defending the Cop in the face of Testimony / evidence, what are we going to do…?
Why is still so hard to bring a cop to Justice with Consequences, why is so hard to terminate them, to strip them of their powers and benefits, to see that they face Jail Time …?
We keep talking around the solutions and doing the same thing over, and over and over. Sigh !
