I do field work for IT and I just had enough of the stress and pressure, my boss was verbally abusive, management didn't give us any support, the clients were rude and entitled, doing service calls was taxing on my relationships and work life balance, I was paid so low even though I work in tech. So I decided to quit and start my own business, but still in technology.

9. Because today's working generation is lazy and wants everything handed to them. Today's generation doesn't know the meaning of work. Many service industry employees say they are leaving because of the way customers treat them. They get their feelings hurt when customers call them out because they don't know the meaning of customer service anymore. And most of them are complete idiots. I see every day.

People are leaving cause of overworked (12-16 hours a day) and underpaid and we get no lunch breaks and get a 5 minute restroom breaks every 2 hours and we're burned out every day (wherever its bus drivers, truck drivers, restaurant and retail workers etc) were burnout everyday cause of the pandemic were not coming back till like 2024 trump will win again

14. No one wants to say the real reason because when you call these employers out on their behaviour they're quick to shy away from it and shift it back at you or play dumb, such as "Oh, no one want's to work and we don't know why."

    They're narcissists on the jobs and they only speak in two ways: interrogative and accusatory statements.
    When you're first hired, they don't just ask personal questions but they will later accuse you for something they did.

    First comes the personal questions when you meet them, and work with them, and later down the road when you defeat their fraud they will turn to accusations against you.

    Dealing with a narcissist is like being arrested. They're very crabby people in every sense of the word, you could call them a cancer.

    Also, when coworkers start acting different towards you out of the blue it means the narcissist managers/supervisors already turned them against you easily with their lies. I've seen it in schools, in jobs, and in the neighborhoods, they get people to shun you and isolate you.

    There is an epidemic of narcissism in society.
    There is no keeping peace with a narcissist, they live to create chaos and discourse.

    These are all the reasons why narcissists are dangerous, and by extent, a massive reason why people are refusing to re-enter the workforce today.

    Nobody want's to say it's narcissism, and fraud too, because it's the pink elephant in the room.

15. I quit a grocery store job in Septwmber and I got a new job as a telemarketer so far not bad and not overworked and no nagging for extra time

Why we have "the great resignation era" ? this is not hard to answer: overwork , more responsibility, no days off, no increase salary's, very little vacation days , no good benefice, longer hours with no overtime extra pays and not healthy mental environment at the job … work hard & go nowhere, is the empty promise of a system that became to crumble. by the way CEO and Corporations "they decisions makers" are responsible why everybody job sucks and they making more money then ever.

    – Denied a lifestyle because of the lockdown,
    – Pay doesn't buy you anything of significance,
    – Can make money in alternative ways
