Thousands of unaccompanied migrant children have crossed the southern U.S. border this year as border patrol agents struggle to control the surge. NBC News’ Julia Ainsley spoke to migrant families and law enforcement in the Rio Grande Valley about the increasing number of children crossing the border.

My family has struggled with poverty since I can remember. Watching my single mother work 3 jobs and get her degrees. Get better job and try to give us better life.
I have so much empathy for the mothers out there only trying to give their children a better life, a chance to have sustainable life.
No child of any culture deserves to suffer or go without.
I do not mean tons of toys, but a safe roof over thier head. Food and the hygiene necessities. I also believe offering an education only creates a sustainable life.
