I find it unbelievably depressing that the US of the late 1800s and early 1900s was a beacon of hope for people who were impoverished and struggling and this unbelievably beautiful country welcomed them with open arms. And now we don’t want any immigrants coming in looking for a better life and more opportunities. It’s the idea that this country was built on. To give life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It’s all slowly fading away and it makes me worry for our future. I just wish one day we could all see each other as Americans and see people from these other countries as people looking for the great things we have and embracing it

And they come here expressly for the free welfare, food stamps and medicaid. You cannot refute facts and act morally superior at the same time.
