50% (its actually 75% or more) general vaccination rate should be more than enough to stop cold any epidemic if it was done in a focused, as needed, thoughtful way. Epidemic models can be used to prove this! It is one of many fallacies re the epidemic to propose that effective measures need anything more than modest compliance numbers. That we are at such high rates of vaccination AND masking and yet the virus continues its typical virus behavior is absolute PROOF that these measures are either totally ineffective or only minimally effective, or that their mass application is a completely stupid strategy. I know its the later. Prior research showed masking was NOT effective in stopping the soread of influenza on college campuses, we know the flu shot has had minimal effects on prior flu seasons, we know that masking during procedures has NO benefit in reducing infection rates. Yet all of this is ignored because of foolish wishful thinking by the simple minded yet extremely self-confident sheeples.
Well now we have companies making/forcing medical decisions! What right or expertice do they have and where will this all end? What IS the actual medical necessity ( no effort at all to provide effectiveness data for indescriminate vaccination) ? Since the vast majority of AA employees will end up dying of everything BUT covid why is AA being so selective with its we know best medical decision making? It would make far more sense to require monthly rectal and pelvic exams to check everyone for those very disease prone areas. After all you NEVER know, a pilot might have highly aggressive prostate cancer or melanoma that has secretly metastasized to the brain which could cause an inflight seizure. It DOES happen ! Oh i see , in this ridiculous game of pretend we are pretending that Covid at very low rates below normal seasonal ILI rates is the most serious threats!
