What's going on between east and west?
The foundation of western capitalism is finance. Banks make money, not governments. The money supply has increased roughly 2000X in 100 years. Hence, we'd expect money to lose its buying power 2000X, but populations also increased 10X, so money lost its buying power only 200X. A loaf of bread once only 1 cent is now $2. Banks buy assets for free by adjusting their ledgers, creating new money.
The seller sees X dollars more in his account and hence believes he was paid for the asset. We don't notice banks acquiring assets for free because when X dollars of assets were purchased, X dollars of new deposits were also created. Deposits are money owed to depositors or a liability. Equity = assets – liabilities; hence, the acquisition leaves the bank's equity unchanged. Thus, banks' free acquisition of companies and assets remains unnoticed.
Why free? Deposits become a perpetual debt that banks can never repay, except temporarily. Canadian banks have $2 trillion in deposits CAD (M2). The Bank of Canada has only made $100 billion (M0). How would Canadian banks repay $2 trillion of debt to depositors when there's only $100 billion or 5% in circulation. A result of the 5% capital/reserve requirement that creates the so-called 20x "money multiplier effect."
A Russian company goes public to raise funds. IPO banks ledger new rubles (RUB) to buy ownership. If the company wants to use its new RUB to buy assets or talent abroad, it must sell its new RUB to purchase USD, EUR, or GBP (The3). Selling RUB weakens RUB while buying USD strengthens USD. Thus, the3 tends to stay strong while other currencies grow weaker. The west-owned Bank of International Settlements will only transfer USD, EUR, GBP directly between nations via the SWIFT protocol.
A $1 billion trade deficit means importing $1b more than exporting; a nation's USD reserves would decrease by $1b a year. All countries must earn their USD by a trade surplus, but the USA can constantly counterfeit more USD when financing its companies. USD is used directly worldwide without the need to sell USD, which would weaken USD.
For 75 years, strong counterfeited USD bought the best talent and assets from all over the world, making the west rich and the rest poor. Fantastic for the west, horrid for the rest. The only thing that has saved Russia from being bought out by the west is strong leadership. Otherwise, Russia would be in upheaval and division like the USA, but without counterfeiting to keep them afloat.
Soon the wealthy from the west would own much of Russia's oil and ores bought with counterfeited money, the west's big wet dream. Russia cannot afford to squander the luxury of behaving like privileged brats (the USA). Libya, Iraq, Vietnam, 3 million dead—half women and children. And we dare to judge Russia; Afghanistan asked for Russian help to fight the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
In 1978, Afghanistan introduced land and marriage reform, universal education, and equal rights for women. So began a terrorist insurgency led by the Taliban and Al-Qaeda that spilled over into neighboring Russia. The USA helped terrorists kill thousands of Russians and saved Al-Qaeda. Thus allowing for Al-Qaeda to later kill thousands of Americans on 9/11. Karma is a bitch. Take a hard look at the counterfeiting criminally insane, the USA.
The real reason the USA destroyed Iraq and Libya wasn't weapons of mass destruction; what a blatant lie. America loves its lies to be obvious. Iraq and Libya's destruction was to set an example the world would not soon forget. Libya and Iraq were trying hard to convince the other OPEC nations to drop USD. In 1974 the USA made a deal with OPEC. The USA pointed to Vietnam, Iran with the Shah, Chile with Pinochet, and central and South America—regime change. Instead, the USA would help OPEC nations militarily, and all OPEC had to do was sell their oil for USD and only USD. Hence the Petro-dollar was born. Since the USA doesn't need to earn its USD, like all other nations, the USA ledgers trillions of new USD each year when financing its corporations; it's the next best thing to free oil.
Twenty and forty years later, the USA did regime change in Iraq and Libya, and today those nations are destroyed. OPEC was wise to take the USA's offer. Libya and Iraq people paid only 4 cents a liter for petrol; their oil paid for education and healthcare, and everyone felt safe and secure, except criminals and terrorists.
