Monkeypox is not comparable to hiv/aids and is not to be a stigma towards the gay community. If 2 healthy people engage in but stuff they will not get hiv,aids,stds,stis or monkeypox. They would need to be infected with a virus first.
If you are concerned about catching monkeypox, it can affect anyone. It is about contact. Its less contagious than covid. You would need to exchange fluids, or touch fluids on surfaces from an infected person that fluid is contagious for up to 2 weeks. Its a pathogenic virus that is contact oriented. It does not care if your straight or gay. If your a promiscuous person and dont practice safe sex, your chances of catching anything are greatly increased. This is why condoms where invented. Since you can get the virus from touching someone with skin to skin contact, kissing, touching clothes, fluids, drinking after someone, its a contact virus its not airborne.
Its not sexually transmitted as an std or sti, people think that because if someone has it your exchanging bodily fluids. So if someone is infected obviously you will catch it as its a pathogen. I can not stress that enough.
Wash yours hands, and wear a mask in public. Your smallpox vaccine will suffice for now if its been given in the last 3-5 years. Look at the clinical data not the news. The issue is we usually get our smallpox vaccines as children or infants so that immunity is long gone for us adults.
