   Just about every modern aircraft uses C-Band signals to measure the precise measurement of their height above terrain. A technology used since WWII.
   Radio Altimeter inputs are then used in so many of our safety devices, from Auto Throttles and Flight Management Computers to Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System.
   Any outside interference from a close by band width such as 5G could render all those safety devices dangerous and useless.
   These systems are mainly used below 2500 Feet AGL and in the most critical part of flight which is takeoff and landing.
   This could basically bring worldwide air commerce to a halt.
   The good news is that you can now order that Uber on your 5G from the crash site! 😎

15. The FAA still uses tubes in their equipment because it is run by the government the same ones that pass out vaccines that don't work and the postal service that is slower than the pony express. The FAA has needed an upgrade for years I am surprised that they don't have flag men at the airports waving the planes in like they had on the Navy carriers.

16. Can a reporter specifically ask airlines if 5G causes "in band interference" in the 4.2 – 4.4Ghz band. You will NOT get an on the record answer that it does. The issue is with flawed radar altimeters that do not appropriately filter out signals that are outside of the 4.2 – 4.4Ghz band allocated for radar altimeters. This isn't the fault of the wireless carriers for once.

17. As a Pilot I can tell you this is completely bogus. The "older" Altimeters they are talking about work on static air pressure. Even in modern glass cockpits it is all shielded cables. There is no cause for concern. News making a mountain out of an anthill here.
