Goodbye, Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus?

Evidence is mounting that Samsung won’t launch a Galaxy S26 or Galaxy S26 Plus next year. Meanwhile, Samsung touts just how many times you can fold the Galaxy Z Fold 7, even in extreme temperatures. Finally, PC emulation on Android made a big stride, and an emulator for “the console that shall not be named” just had a huge update.

  1. This is bad news for me. I am interested in switching from iPhone to Samsung for my next phone. I may still wait for the S27 line up to upgrade but if this is the new trend Samsung wants to go down, I am now feeling less confident switching over. Good job Samsung.

  2. this is good news?! they should have had a pro size phone with flagship cameras and other specs years ago. One of the key reasons Apple is winning is that there is no pro galaxy phone for those who dont want a humongous screen in their pockets. those people buy iphone pros rn.

  3. I'm gonna miss the plus version it's my favorite. I have the s22+ & s23+ I also have the s22U & s25U. This is why they're gonna make the s25fe more premium this year. I wouldn't mind the edge as long as it has better battery life.

  4. I've been waiting for Samsung to launch a flagship phone in the size of iPhone pro models without sacrificing specs.
I've been a Samsung user for a long time but never liked the size and shape of ultra phones.

  5. a little pool: would you rother buy a fancy, thin phone, that dies after 3 hours of screen on time, with lenses that anyway double the thickness in some areas and which is hard to pickup from flat surface, or boring, extra thick phone (like 15mm), with 12 hours screen on, easy to lift from your desk, giving good grip, with lenses that don't stick out?

  6. Phone release should be every two years.
Maybe they can release Ultra and Edge next year and then Fan Edition and Pro the year after that. That's the only way they can sell more phones annually.

  7. Samsung should have kept the note series and release it as ultra model later the year. S26 as smaller affordable phone compact like S25. S26 plus as pro model with better specs than usual plus models with same size and lastly edge as slightly bigger but thin model.

  8. I understand the s26 edge instead of plus… But as a happy base s23 user, this is unfortunate. The standard S phone is a great size and always comes at by far the best deal, especially a few months after release. If the price stays the same, that's fine. The flagship snapdragon chip and 120hz 1080p display are the essentials – which the current S25 does. It's due for a camera redisign, but that shouldn't make for a price increase after this long. These base level flagship phones are an inportant phone to exist.

  9. If they start making the base models have the same specs and features as the flagship model ill downgrade my screen size a little to save money. Im thinking AR devices will be getting more and more popular. Screen size wont matter with a good pair of AR glasses

  10. Samsung dex should be something samesung really leans into. These phones are getting really capable and i see peoples phones replacing their gaming pcs in a few years if the support and performance is there

  11. We need to move beyond yearly releases. Tech is moving slower now which has led to copy and paste phone generations, not to mention a rise in e-waste. Each generation is the same as the last except for a minor tweak here or there. We need to be on 3 year generations so we can have some true upgrades with each new release. It also gives the engineers time to innovate and problem solve. There's nothing wrong with selling the same phone for a few years straight. They will still sell as people require an upgrade from previous generations. If I bought an S24 the trade year it released, I'd likely need a new phone sometime through the S25's life cycle because that's 6 years. By the end of the S25 generation, 80% of Samsung users would be on the S25 platform. That's A LOT of S25's being sold. Same for the S26, the S27, etc..

  12. The Edge baffles me. Who is it for? People buying the normal S won't buy it because it's too expensive, Ultra people won't buy it because it's missing most top end features and it's fairly close to price of the Ultra.

No one in the last 5 (maybe even 10 years) has complained their phone is too thick, but what they do complain about is bad battery. Who is buying an unnecessarily thin expensive phone with worse battery. Honestly I'd love to know who the demographic this is aimed at, I can normally work it out, but not this time.

  13. The fck. Ive been buying the plus forever. I aren't buying the edge, i need a all day battery life. Im not buying the Ultra. Its way to big for my hands. I guess its about time to jump ship
