How to SAFELY Install a Dash Camera in a Car with Airbags (Hard Wire and Rear Cam)

Learn how to hard wire a dash camera and rear camera in your car or truck. All modern cars have airbags and many people run the power wires to the dash camera incorrectly which can be dangerous. In this video I show you how to hardwire a dash camera in a truck and do a clean install using the factory cigarette lighter adapter in a car so all of the wires are hidden. You can use this video to install any brand of dash camera but in this case I am using the Vantrue E1 and Vantrue N4 Pro with a rear camera and cabin facing camera.

  2. I watched a couple videos today on how to install my camera and this is definitely the most in-depth and informational one. And I even found out now I can use an ODB port adapter instead. So I don't have to mess with the fuse box. Thanks again for your help!

  3. Fantastic to-the-point no useless blabber! Thank you; well done!
I have two cameras to install. You’ve made it look easy to get past the wire running I’ve been hesitant to confront! I’m looking forward to hoping I find it easy to remove and pry the panels to hide the wiring as you’ve done. Somehow, I feel “Murphys’ law” will test the ease you had and I’m going to try to duplicate!

  4. Such a detailed video.
Thank you for your work Chris. Gotta say, you got me dependent on your videos, anytime I want to do some work on a car, I first check if you have a video on it. Chris` University of Engineering <3

  5. So for a car with aribags, is it the way you recommend?
    – If using cigarette lighter adapter, run the wires along the passenger side
    – If using hardwire kit, run the wires along the driver side

  6. I was pretty hesitant about trying to install one of these myself with the hardwiring and the airbags and such. This video has instilled me with great confidence that I can do it. Fantastic work!
