  1. The aftermarket cross member bushing , comes in 2 parts . Poly and metal inner core. Like most others do. Take the inner metal out of the poly. install poly . can easily use a rubber hammer . but use silicone grease Just tap that in. once flush. then install the metal tube , Thats easy to. I did mine , myself on jack stands . Those bushings and compress tool is from Z1 motorsports . guess you didn,t had the instructions that Z1 provides . by the looks . But when i did it . the job was easyer . than you did . others here in chat also said to freeze em . which is right

  2. @Rainman Ray's Repairs in the future, and speaking from experience, press setting un-sleeved urethane bushings goes much MUCH better with a liberal application of silicone grease on the bushing and the hole… and no, as the urethane as the compound is "impervious"…

  3. People clearly know nothing about those bushings if they think they are compromised from a slit/cut in them. They are solid polyurethane bushings. Not hydraulic filled like the OEM junk was. They are perfectly fine. They just have a lot of squish and rebound due to polyurethane having a medium durometer hardness not solid like hard plastic. They will be perfectly fine.
That rear one would have gone in WAY better if you'd have put a little Silicone lube on the inside of the bushing though.

  4. Instead of the hose clamp, next time use the cup of the pressing tool as the outer guard to prevent the rubber squishing out.
So put the pressing disc into the cup, put it over the bushing and pull from the other side with a plate big enough to bridge the hole.
A bit of silicone lubricant helps.

  5. Happy you got the bushings in, I used to be able to do jobs like this, then old age caught up with me.
I watch you do the kind of jobs I used to do, but now I do it from my couch here in the frozen northeast.

  6. RAY! LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS!
IF YOU HAD PLACED THE CUP OVER TO THE SIDE YOU HAD THE BUSHING ON, THE WALLS OF THE CUP WOULD HAVE HELD THE RUBBER BUSHING FROM EXPANDING BEYOND THE METAL SIDES OF THE OPENING AND WOULD HAVE GUIDED THE BUSHING RIGHT INTO THE OPENING IN THAT SUBFRAME. ESENTIALLY YOU NEEDED TO REVERSE THE LOCATION OF THE TWO PARTS OF THE BUSHING PULLER!
AND I AGREE WITH SOME OTHERS WHO COMMENTED TO USE SOME SORT OF SILICONE LUBE. THOUGH I WOULD WORRY SOME ABOUT THE BUSHING SLIPPING AT SOME POINT LATER? TOO BAD THIS GAVE YOU SUCH A HARD TIME BUT YOU WERE GIFTED SOMEWHAT AS THE EARLIER PORTION OF YOUR REPAIR WENT FAIRLY EASY REMOVING THE DRIVESHAFT ETC.
ALL IN ALL, GREAT WORK AND LOVED THE
    🐦

  7. Hello, when putting those pieces back in the rubber hangers for the exhaust i used to spray silicone on the metal part, it helps it slip in and it doesn’t hurt. The rubber like grease or something like that. Would just an idea next time we do it.

  8. These were as funny as hell, it worked every time he used manual tools due to the higher torque but then he would change to electrical tools with lower torque and it would stop working. If he had done it manually it would have taken 5 minutes 🙂

  9. I just don't understand this. The instructions are very clear in how to use the tool, and he chose to ignore that. Then goes in the opposite way he took it out, knowing it's tapered. Idk. I love your videos, but you really lost my views as this was so hard to watch. We Install these here in Canada on crusty, salt rusted diffs all the time, and when follow instructions, and NOT use power tools, it goes in just fine. This was just so sad to watch, and yes that bearing tore for sure. That guy is going to be driving on something worse than he started with. Truly sad day for YouTube mechanics. Wow. I'm just in shock at how far you went, when it was so easy to just go in from the side you took it out, and also used the tools the way they are intended and not backwards. Truly sad.

  10. Of all the millions of cars & trucks built what's wrong with a typical driveshaft & differential that you would design this ridiculous thing?
That guy should be made to do all the repairs.
    Great patience & a great job👍
