After the fact, and Judge Kavanaugh is now Justice Kavanaugh… we know, that Christine Ford is a Democrat Party hack and slanderous liar. Even her own friend and ex-boyfriend are witnesses against her story and/or character. Schumer even said, they will stop Trump's nominee (whomever he/she is) at any cost. On the other hand, Kavanaugh has had women, including ex-girlfriends, come forward to defend his honor and character.

The FBI is not the appropriate agency to conduct this investigation.
The alleged assault was not perpetrated by a federal employee (at the time), nor is it alleged to have occurred on federal property or at a location otherwise within federal jurisdiction.
The FBI will likely either outright refuse to pursue it, or they'll kick it over to local or state authorities. Third option is they have a local/federal team investigate it, but in that case, the locals will likely take point.
By all means, the authorities should investigate it if they believe that to be prudent. But the FBI is not in the business of investigating violations of state law that occur within one state and don't involve federal employees.
What else is the FBI going to get from something that was not federal?

Kavanaugh is a member of/closely associated with the Federalist Society, whose primary philosophy is one of Laissez Faire. Perhaps a little research along those lines will make it clear why Trump and the Republican Senate find it imperative that Kavanaugh be confirmed at all cost.
