Babe Ruth jersey fetches record-breaking $5.6 million at auction



A Babe Ruth road jersey dating to 1928-30 has sold at auction for $5.6 million. Hunt Auctions, which handled Saturday’s sale, says the price breaks a record for the most expensive piece of sports memorabilia ever sold. A Ruth jersey from 1920 previously sold for $4.4 million.

  2. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Crown Prince who purchased it after all he bought Salvator Mundi for over $400 million. I wonder which company manufactured the shirt? Perhaps they're still operational? who knows but what's on 2nd…

    The world is still inflicted with many inequalities. Over 1,000,000,000 people currently face water scarcity and over 800,000,000 food scarcity so when I see things such as this it does make me think more deeply about serious issues and the progress which is being made to solve them.
