  1. I’m sorry, I believe Ruth. I know that everyone wants to pin it on her too, but I don’t think you can. I can’t imagine that no one realizes that he adored her and was protective of her. I think she should have kept all of her money; they would’ve had a tough time proving anything against her. She should be living large in another country!

  2. if she was director and was ignorant about what happened she should be in jail for neglect her duty job…that's the way things should go!

  3. why she deserved such amount of money as time he worked no one single day?…she should left with 0 money and right now to work in grocery or wherever she want

  4. I was under the impression that in Jewish families all adult members know the details of a family business so that they can take over in case of the death or disability of the principal. Am I mistaken about this?

  5. Interesting thing is my friend worked for a insurance company and he took a call from Ruth ….. She asked if her $150k ring was covered.. . IT WAS NOT.. So she got upset and hung up the phone….. So much for Millions huh

  6. "A lot of wives, especially from THAT generation… " How STUPID! Ruth Madoff looks like she stepped out of the Preppie Handbook (or an ad for Ralph Lauren) – ads she and her Decorator/mentor surely STUDIED, in order to perfect Ruth's class ACT. She lived in neighborhoods where people PARTICIPATED in the CREATION of America's culture. (a roster of her former neighbors – both in Queens and in Roslyn, reads like a who's who of movers and shakers) She was fully up-to-the-minute, culturally – a child of the SIXTIES AND SEVENTIES – not the 1940s. She's hardly a Greatest Generation Bluehair. She's from the generation who grew up totally enfranchised by Women's Liberation. She's from a time and place where women kept the books – helping run the businesses – and had been doing so, for GENERATIONS. I'm not saying she's a decent person. But she's hardly from a generation of "little women who didn't know anything about business". Reporters are so stupid, they really ought not to be allowed to inject their own ignorance into issues.

  7. She had no idea, hence the municipal bond investment, c'mon man what happened the to the "strong woman behind every man" schtick? Oh, not in this case, she was a poor innocent rich wife vacationing in Key West, more lies from professional liars.

  8. THERE IS ALWAYS A DOUBLE STANDARD FOR WOMEN IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM. HOW MANY FEMALE TEACHERS HAVE HAD SEX WITH CHILDREN AND GOT ZERO JAIL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! SMH.

  9. I don't think that Ruth necessarily knew about her husband's crimes but I do think that maybe she might feel morally obligated to give a few bucks back to those who lost everything. Either way, this woman suffered, her husband in prison and a son who committed suicide. I for sure don't think she made $70 million selling a cookbook and I think that *her* money is from the schemes and scams. How much money does one person need for Heaven's sake? Give it up, Ruth!! It seems in a way that *she* is battling to keep her millions and too bad so sad for Bernie and the bilked.
