I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and spoken word performer, and this makes me so sad. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my YouTube channel. I'm not saying that there isn't a link between certain #mentalhealth issues and violence. What I'm saying is that, when we put the focus on #mentalillness we're helping to make the average person believe that mental illness equals criminal. So we need to stop blaming the mental illness and start blaming the individuals. ❤✌🏽

All these mass shooters are having mental issues. They are literally taking out crowds of people. It seems on average monthly. We need a safe haven for the public. Set up shelters or walk in's, for clinical evaluations and mental health services. Anyone can loose their shit temporarily at any time. It's not just for the long term over medicated or drug addicts out there!

I’d have to say any cold blooded murderer or serial murderer has mental issues. It doesn’t excuse anything. But our judicial system is very broken. Even if you get a murderer off the street it’s likely they will be eventually released. It’s not likely they will get the death sentence no matter how horrific the crime and if they do, it will be at least 20 years of frivolous appeal. And even then the judgement may be reduced to life and eventually release.
