ABC’s Frank Reynolds and Jules Bergman with Buzz Aldrin ahead of Apollo 11.

On July 16, 1969, the trio lifted into space aboard the Apollo 11 and then entered a lunar orbit. By the next day, Armstrong and Aldrin, aboard the lunar module Eagle, had separated from Collins who remained in the command module.

And on July 20, 1969, Americans and the staff at Apollo Mission Control in Houston, Texas, watched and listened in amazement as Armstrong and then Aldrin placed their feet on the moon’s surface.

  2. When I was like 10 or 11 or so Jules Bergman my hero more than any sports sports loser. When he was was TV it was all that matters.

  3. why dont you people believe we went to the moon. we would go back too but we cant we destroyed the technology and its basically impossible to build it back with our extremely advanced technology today. our new technology couldnt even withstand the negative 300 degrees moon nights and 225 degree days thats old tech the old stuff could withstand those temps
