In this video I bring you along as I start the process of replacing a clutch in a customer’s 1995 Ford Mustang with the big 5.0 302ci with almost 200hp! Seriously though I am just happy it is not all rotted out. In this first part we remove the exhaust and transmission to gain access to the worn out clutch.
-Enjoy!

Never any eye protection when under a car. Lucky ME, with one eye!!!!!!!!
Hi Mr O this is the third mustang trans I’ve seen you do. You were working on one and someone needed you to help start another car off site. The second one was a clutch pedal that the computer said the clutch pedal wasn’t engaged. Now this one. That car died on the interstate. You figured out what went wrong. That was a real good job figuring what was wrong. The last person that played with the clutch and they touched something they shouldn’t have.
Like watching a ninja work!
Happy birthday Ms O.
And what i do like , Old vic in action!
Awesome instruction Sir!!! I like your demeanor. You have a great attitude. Thank you
Wish I'd have had the trans cap when I helped my college roommate change out the clutch in his '82 5.0 back in '89. My shirt was trashed because we manually lowered the trans and I had the rear end of it. Can't believe we actually made the car work again.
Mrs. O and myself share the same birthday! Happy very belated Mrs. O!
I have probably 20-25 clutch jobs as a amateur mechanic. two wheel drive Toyota pickups seemed the easiest….. I could get the trans out in just under an hour, 15-20 min for cleanup, and about 45 minutes back together…..
Unbelievable they ran that platform from '79-'95. That is eons in the automotive world.
That worthless smog pump and air tube line. All that exhaust pipe dead weight. Put a turbo on it and run it out the front fender. Makes working on the trans much more pleasant.
My son has a 2006 ford mustang with the 5.0 high output in it . The four speed transmission or the rear end gears are totally screwy . He can do 40 mph before it red lines in 1st gear. I’m dumb when it comes to the gearing would the gears in the resend need to be changed or the transmission ?
matco ?
Happy birthday to Mrs O?
Holy High skool batmam 😊
At 63 Im still doing this without a
lift.
The comedic one liners never fail to entertain. You’re the best Eric.
Eric O’s two favoritftes: Ice Cream 🍨& acetylene🔥.😳😀
Don't see too many that clean. Even when they are new ! Thank you for another Great video. Cheers
Someone didn't know how to lift that car and creased in the driver's side unibody
a brazing tip instead of cutter head for heating, well I'll be dipped. 🤪
Audio seems to have gone static @ 24:27 . Something about the autoadjuster 2
Love these SN95s with a 5.0 pushrod.
Happy birthday Mrs O
Happy birthday Mrs "O". And as a lady it's nobody's business how old you are 😅😅😅
I literally told that snoop dog joke to the apprentice at the shop yesterday and he didn't get it… I felt so old!
Do you ever listen to your self .go on and on
Happy birthday Mrs o 🎊🎉🎁🎂
That cover definitely did Not want to come off 👍👍
Does the customer like his feet? dump the bell housing for a steel scatter-shield.
Sad, replacing with state of the art racing cats would eliminate air pump and pre-cats, and take up less room, plus flow better and be just as effective at the job. But, Gubbmint.
Where's the "Rosebud" ?
Working on cars in Florida is relatively rust free, but wrenching in 98 degree heat and 95% humidity is the trade off.
You don’t have to replace everything. I would just ask the owner if they would want anything that was already apart replaced. My father always believed that if it isn’t broke then don’t fix it but if was a tedious job and it was already apart fix it now then to have to worry about it later.
Step 1 is actually: Jack up the car!
Very clean for N.Y.!!!
