Samsung Galaxy S25 FE hands-on: Be patient!

Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 FE has a fatal flaw for its $649 price. Here’s what you must know.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is here, and it brings some of the best design features of the Galaxy S25 Plus in a more affordable package. But after spending some time with it, I think you should be patient and wait. In this hands-on review, I’ll break down the major compromises Samsung made, especially with the processor, which is a step back to last year’s Exynos 2400.

  1. What nobody seems to mention is the price difference between buying this phone new from a retailer compared to an upgrade via your phone carrier.. I just upgraded for just over $200 (over 36 months) from an S23FE. It was a no-brainer.

  2. I bought directly from the samsung website, and they offered to give me a 300 dollar exchange value for my s23 fe, which to me is an insane value. I really liked my S23 fe but my biggest issue with it is that it drains the battery super fast and it is les than a year old. And I have to always keep carrying battery bank for emergencies. So I was looking to have my phone updated, and I was essentially able to get the s25 fe – 256 gb model for literally $400 after tax.

Let's see how the battery performance is like. If I am not happy with it, I will probably return it, and stick with s23 fe and save the 400 dollars.

  3. As someone who already bought the phone, I bought it on Amazon for around $700 with a $100 dollar gift card and 256GB storage; and I had been waiting for this phone since the release of the S25 series, I know it does not have the best processor and is not necessarily an upgrade from the S24 FE, but I had the S21 FE which to me is a huge upgrade, I also don't necessarily use my phones for gaming or much for the camera, and for the price and offer that Amazon was offering, I simply decided to buy it as soon as it released on the Amazon website. I have been using Samsung since I started high school maybe 7-8 years ago now, and although I have noticed that it seems that Samsung is no longer innovating as much as they could (or should) I still prefer Samsung because I have already bought into their ecosystem, and find it hard to move to something like a iPhone or android competitors (such as Google, OnePlus, Motorola, etc.). So although there is a small sliver of regret after buying this phone and watching this video, I have to say that I am still grateful that Samsung even bothered releasing an FE version years after I bought the S21 FE.

  4. I really like the Silver Frame with the phone being another colour! Last we saw this was S6/S7.
Slim Bezels. Premium design especially on the edges. All colours are great. Light enough at 190g.
They finally got it right this time!
