  1. Went from Batman can't stop thinking about sex to Stephen Colbert hahaha "A is for Alfred B is for bat"!!!

  2. In the Netherlands we would be mildly horrified by two people on TV saying: ¨I like God, I assume you do too?¨ I just hope it´s sarcasm, but… it´s the U.S.A. so I am not really sure…

  3. Pete is incredibly intelligent, endlessly optimistic, deeply thoughtful, and fucking hilarious. And if he weren't the last thing in the list, I'd never have known who he was.
Buy his book and see him preform live. I don't think I'll ever be as happy or as optimistic as you, Pete…. but I love you all the same!

  4. Fun fact: As I was watching this, I thought Pete was familiar to me, but I couldn't remember where. About mid-way through the interview, I remembered: Pete was one of the actors who played Batman in College Humor's "Badman" series (of course, this was years ago, back when CH was actually funny).

  5. "Why do people die?" Because everything dies. It's called Nature. We are all just manifestations of energy. Grow up and learn to handle loss and grief.

  6. We all DO get to a place eventually where there is no more sadness, Stephen. There can only be sadness if you are alive to feel it. Once we stop breathing…poof!…all our pain and sorrow comes to an end. It's the "no more tears" formula.

  7. He recommends watching disturbing films before the baby is born. But isn't it even worse for the baby if it is in utero while the mother is watching disturbing movies?

  8. Pete Holmes is paraphrasing pages 36 and 37 of “Be Here Now” by Baba Ram Dass:

“Somebody looks at you seductively. An ice cream cone goes by. Will it ever be The Big Ice Cream Cone In The Sky?
