In this video I fix a customer’s 2008 Ford F150 that has the money light on with a transmission range sensor problem, he said the speed control stopped working and also wanted the blower motor fixed so it will work on speeds 1 and 2 again. I try to keep my cool with crappy parts, but I go PG13 pretty quick….
-Enjoy!

  1. Keep up the great work….and the ranting about " shitiftication " of quality parts ! Hopefully the airlines dont use the 10 % acceptable failure rule …all about profits…..hopefully Sullys captain on my next flight. 😅
    God help us

  2. You know, your absolutely right about the quality control of these parts. I'll try and repair parts before I get most aftermarket parts (aside from performance parts). I had took a gamble on a aftermarket caliper for my wife's 2014 Malibu… First test drive after getting it buttoned up… leaking everywhere… and that was the 2nd one they sent after sending me the wrong side AND wrong model.
I order most parts matching up by RPO codes for stuff like suspension components… and having to play quality assurance for the company that HAS quality is insane to me.

  3. I had to put a new caliper on my wife’s Pilot. We bought the new one from O’Reilly. I just happened to notice the clip that held the boot on was sticking up out of the snap ring groove it goes in so I pushed it in. So far so good.

  4. Great rant mate. Until someone instigates a class-action law suit on whoever, nothing will be done about it. All small shops need to form some sort of association, to give yourselves some strength in numbers.

  5. NO!!! YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!! QC seems to be, make it; throw it in the box; if "nobody" complains about the junk all is good??????????? OEM/AFTERMARKET doesn`t make any difference except total cost,,, for 1 OEM part "sometimes" you can get several aftermarket parts and MAYBE get one that works at least out the door, the golden 90 guarantee still comes into play!

  6. Parts distributors and manufacturers denying Parts issues? I've worked for Union Carbide, British Petroleum, and Boeing, I've never heard of this… Can't be true… LMAO.

  7. A diamond brand chain master link…the side plate in the kit…2 kits…neither one of the side plates would fit the pins of the master link…in the bag…from the factory…had to drill them out on site, in the lift, 15 ft off the ground, to fix the chain, to open the rollup door, to let the forklifts in and out for production. What a stupid position to be in.

  8. Completely different industry, but the CAD software I use is one of the "top" brands, and it's also very prone to crashing. They have a crash reporter that's supposed to automatically record the process that failed and then pop up with a report window that lets you enter additional comments, etc. In the YEARs that I have used this software, I have never once had a crash where the crash reporter didn't also crash. And wouldn't you believe that the support people also say that they rarely hear of any issues. I guess if your reporting system sucks bad enough, you never have to hear of the issues with your product.

  9. At the end that reminds me of a NAPA I think it was Brake Caliper that leaked due to it wasn't masked when they painted it in the area that the small copper sealing washer covered! I remember I had two and one was painted there, and the other wasn't in that area. I've also had an AutoZone caliper that did not have the steel bushings in the area that the mounting bolts go through, there was just rubber and no bushings.

  10. if your the only one calling about wrothless parts, she would not have a job! thanks O, I work on most of my repairs and deal with this issue can only imagine the frustration 😡

  11. Regarding the caliper issues we used to order from O'reilly we ordered calipers 4 corners for a vehicle that was sold at our lot and only one from the first set was good the rest it took them 2 more trips to our shop to finish the vehicle and also it's not only the aftermarket the ''oem'' parts are made with doodoo gm,honda,bmw,vw/audi,etc

  12. Right, It sucks that I have to pay $200.00 for a Quality built Upstream fuel/air ratio O2 sensor from Denso from rockauto, Assembled in 🇺🇸, The same sensor from OEM much higher At least it works still, Sure I could have bought a $35.00 sensor, But didn't because I heard those don't last over a few months if at all, I believe Whoever says the cheap sensor are Garbage, Everyone wants cheap, Some of us still value Quality.
