In this video I bring you along as I swap out the front wheel nearing on this customer’s 2010 Toyota Corolla. It is a pretty easy job if you have the correct tools.

  1. I know this is a repeat video from years past, but I was trying to accomplish a few things I did not mention in the video. One, it was my first video without braces and wearing these plastic retainers in my mouth, so I wanted to see how that went. Second the video editing software I use (Abobe) just updated to the 2025 version and no longer will sync the audio to the video with the format I was recording in, so I had changed some settings on my camera to record in a different format that it seems to sync up ok. And third it was what I had time to record today 🤷🏼‍♂

  2. I've watched all 3 of your corolla wheel bearing videos. Will be going to harbor salvage to get a slide hammer and front wheel drive bearing kit. Keep up the good work Mr. O.👍🏻

  3. When pressing the bearing out without the race (8:07), does your small plate get dinged up since its resting against the ball bearing during impact? I just did this job (with the help of this video) and the small plate in my Astro kit is all dinged up now!

  4. Man ohh man. I lived near rust belt in Scranton Pa area. Rust and fighting it. My life now near Nashville TN is rust free. I laugh when I brought my wife’s Fusion in to local shop to do rear bearing. Her car had minimal rust from Pa on it. How they cried the blues about how he had to work 30 min per bearing. I just said you have no idea what working on rusted parts my friend

  5. My work truck has the original General M&S tires on it with 82,000 miles on them. This summer it’ll get a new set of four as they are at 3/32s now. You always say if you can do it, we can too but I beg to differ as you have more knowledge and all the right stuff to git er done.

  6. I've been using chrome Snap-On 3/4 drive sockets whenever I needed a large socket for 50 years or so. Never broke a single one. I have broken Craftsman sockets, though, as they are not up to the task.

  7. did one the other week. it was so rusty i had the customer buy an entire knuckle, hub, bearing all new snap rings etc and just put it together for her rather than fight rust

  8. I'm planning on the next three warm days on doing the both wheel bearings and hubs on my wife's Nissan Sentra I bought the harbor freight wheel bearing tool wish me luck I have only chrome sockets lol

  9. i put on the 365AW on my 2010 Corolla before this winter. satisfied with the performance in fresh snow. much better than OEM all seasons, somewhat better than good quality all seasons. noise not louder than other all seasons, but maybe 1% lower gas mileage compared to last winter.

  10. Here's a comment… Just because you can do it, doesn't mean we can do it. The reason is the tools! Years ago, I did a front wheel bearing on a Camry. I had never done one before and back then, I don't think YT had the number of tutorials as they do now. Basically I bought the bearing and just started taking crap apart. I didn't have a bearing press, but my buddy had a 20K press. Took over the whole knuckle assembly and we got the bearing replace. OMG, was that hard, even using a press, we had to heat the knuckle up! But man, after I got everything back together, I couldn't believe how much smoother the car rode! These days, I've got all kinds of tools and I'm just DIY.. But watching your vids has me ordering more crap on a weekly bases… just because I want to make sure I have it, in case I need it.

  11. wish I had caught this video the first time… Did the hub bearings on sons Civic… Lots of fun here in the high desert of New Mexico. Not much rust but the snap rings eat up two sets of plyers. Love the trick with the air hammer and will use it next time.

  12. You have to be "the" quintessential car mechanic. Hard working, intuitive, determined to "do it right" and honest.
I thoroughly enjoy your commentaries while working on cars. I recognize the incredible effort to film some repairs that are incredibly difficult to reach by hand or eye. Bravo Eric! I hope Youtube rewards you well.

  13. watching yo since that cute girl grilled that raccoon… don't know why but wheels and brakes are your most photogenic videos -specially when you do that wet T-shirt thing with the brake-clean…
Actually; come to think on it…. the Z-bart expose' was probly the best one ever…

  14. Good stuff. Just discovered your channel when researching the details of doing a right front wheel bearing on the son-in-laws ‘13 Corolla. Definitely subscribing here. Thanks for your efforts to share your skills!

  15. I just did a wheel bearing on a 2004 Chevy Silverado 4×4. How did I know it was bad? It showed up on the flatbed with wheel at a 20* angle and was being held on with the brake caliper.
