Doing a simple front brake job on a 2019 Subaru Forester using OEM parts. Napa screwed me out of the parts I ordered from them but that’s ok. I like the OEM stuff ðŸ˜

thanks i will be doing this soon and video helped alot
I'm curious to know how much you charged the guy for this job. Great video, thanks!
Do you bed in the brakes after the install?
I always thought those pads fit way too tight in the bracket. Normally I shave them down and clip the wear indicator. Never realized the wear indicator acts like a spring though.
I don't need to replace the brakes on my 2020 Forester yet, but I really appreciate your video and what to expect when it's time to do so.
Still wish you were closer. I'd be seeing you.
Plot twist!!!! The Subaru customer was the actual NAPA employee and did that all on purpose to score some factory parts at the Napa discount 😂😂😂😂
Man I live in west Texas. To see rust and corrosion like that is shocking.
It will be nicer when you give out torque numbers for each bolt tighten.
Great video, just wanted to say are you using OEM parts or aftermarket? how do you avoid the FAKE OEM wheel bearing on the market ?
Isn't it unusual for rear brakes to wear faster than the fronts?
Thanks for the video! Just used your tips to do my moms brakes
Well now im concerned.. i have a 2019 forester that i just changed tbr front pads on (bout it in 2022 from a dealership) and noticed the pads dont sit fully to the rotor. There was about 1/4" at the back of the pad that hadnt been touched at all by the disk. Did they possibly put the wrong rotors on the front?
What is the torque spec on the bolts?
Anyone know the torque specs for the brake caliper bracket and caliper?
Yep. I had a piece of rust fall off a tail pipe. Landed in my eye.
Two visits to eye doctor. He used the equivalent of a dremel tool to get the embedded rust out of my eye.
I watched your video because my own Forester needs rear brake pads, and I want to get a sense of what the job entails doing. Your wife is truly amazing — Mrs. O, thank you for getting the OEM parts needed. 2 hours of driving is just no fun at all. Thank you for helping him. (And yes, I know this video was 1 year ago.)
Didn't make a dime doing the job but hopefully while I watched the video you made a nickel. Nice job as always!
No lube on the pad ears?
so the rotors you choose, is it mostly NAPA you go to? i've mostly used Rockauto (DIYer), someone was saying the ones with the 'machined' surface look that are coated are the ones that last longer, if they're in a 'white' box, and dont' have that machined surface (where the brakes hit) they only last 30k miles or so….
