That engine looks pretty clean for sitting 21 yrs. C'mon man
Nice one
I want a Beetle. I have driven one, once, for a 1/4 of a mile, and then it died. It was not the spark plugs, but the other thing (my automotive English suck) Now you have electronic ignition.
Change that rear apron back to a correct solid H apron, correct wing steeringwheel and youre in stock business. Awesome!
mustie is there anything you can't fix? I really enjoy your videos.
un derrame de gasolina y punnnnnnnnn
I worked on a 6 volt Bug once that had spark but would not start. It was getting fuel but the spark seamed a little weak. I just attributed that to a 6 volt system. After 3 hours it turned out to be a bad condenser. What a nightmare.
A mustie1, I hope this is not an inappropriate question. But do you ever worry about people knowing where you live? Always wanted to ask when you guys with a bunch of subscribers that question. I worry about it and I've got 18 🙂 just cuz I lost $40,000 worth of tools back in 2013, I'm pretty sure it was someone I knew. Cuz I was trying to help out.
Mustie is the bug whisperer. I can’t get enough of these – keep them coming!

Saw the CVA decal on the window….cool!

Every household will have one. Watching Mustie1 videos makes me want a VW bug so bad. I learned to drive standard in a VW Bus. It was so easy.
Great condition little bug
wish i was able to work instead of being a handi capped driver cos then i`d look for a van ….
Nice ol bug
It is important to take the 12v jumper box off the second it starts and earlier, dont clamp it on until a second before turning the starter. Also, never hook the jumper to a battery if it is totally dead and happens to be below freezing .Completely dead batterys can blow up and blind you.
I love that one.. Black…
Wow if there's rush hour I'd take that any day. Try driving I-95 to I-93 and back again.
It!s sound very nice an clean!!!!! Unbelievable after 21 years.
My very first car was a '61 bug I got for $2.00 when I was 17 y.o. Got it from a guy up the street who couldn't get it running..He had the plug wires on wrong lol. Loved that car!
The engine looks to clean for sitting there for years. Did he clean it before you came into the picture? Also did you think to change the oil before you tried to crank it over?
I'd love to have old VW bug!
wow that engine way too clean for that age. Like new.
my goodness what a beautiful old beetle, oldest i had was same in black with red interior a 1962 vintage, miss driving old vw's have a faceless modern vehicle now

Sweet old Bug! When I was a kid, my Dad had a '56 small oval Bug. I had a rail buggy in junior high and high school. The classic Vee-Dub will always have a spot in my heart. Now to just find a free '66 Karmen Ghia….
Beautiful.
I'll bet Bob had a smile a mile wide on his face to hear his baby purring (even if roughly) again!
you didn't mention if you cleaned the gas tank otherwise you were running on turpentine….
What kind of carb is that? I was surprised when I didn't see an accelerator pump and it looked like there was no float.
Thanks for Sharing!
"Skipping"? Is that a Northeast term for "missing"?
