You can't keep them all.
Watch out for carbon monoxide when doing this indoors. The car has no cat
My first car was a 66 Ford Fairlane 500 w/289/3 on the tree. I got it when I was 12 yrs old. My Old Man gave it to me because I had been wrenching on it with a mechanic neighbor since I was almost 10 yrs old. And He bought another car, 72 Mavrick 6 cylinder. 3 on the tree. Loved driving them both, miss driving them…✌
Hope You were able to find her a Good Home Brother.
If you hadn't lollygagged and spent the time on it to restore it, you wouldn't be in this predicament now.
Why fix up a VW truck, when you have an icon sitting in your garage, a 67 Mustang fastback. Worth at least 3 times as much new and more now.
You're going to say that you watch shows that have registered mechanics rev up rebuilt engines and put them on the dynamometer to see if they have more HP but they lube the engine first with sticky rebuild oil first, they don't run them dry.
He started it, checked the radiator, needs a flush and a new radiator, but never checked the oil, and now he's revving it.
I see people start their cars and rev it up, only it destroys the engine running bare without oil, that's why you put oil in it, to cushion the parts and not have them rub against bare metal.
It doesn't make any sense to rev a engine that has been sitting for years sometimes decades, even if it has been only sitting for a day, it bad for the engine to rev it up, no lube has circulated, and even then without it all attached, meaning the trans and rear end, it's harmful.
Starting fluid would be good, I use to have to use it in the winters to get the car started and it only sat overnight. A good battery would help too and the choke should be closed, to start an engine you need the fuel rich not lean.
Ah there is nothing you can't fix with duct tape.
Put a battery in it
Better to let it go to hopefully a good home than let it deteriorate to the extent that it becomes a real battle to revive her. Seen too many projects go that way and things rot to the point of not being restorable. Goodonya Mustie.
6 cylinder of 250 CC or 289 V8 or is 302 V8 motor and nice quiet motor run also nice car!
Hey mustie any news on this motor? brings bck mem`s of my oldmans horse even thou his was a 6 cyl
Nope Ford lifters are not adjustable
You made it sound like there was a story behind why you stopped working on it, but never elaborated. Would love to know what happened.
Anyone else thinking that the first thing they are going to do when it runs on it's own is check the oil pressure?
PLEASE BUY A PAIR OF BOOTS. YOU ARE DESTOYONG YOUR VERTEBRA. I WOULD THINK YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND LEVERAGE ON YOUR BACK. I CAN'T STAND TO WATCH ANYMORE BECAUSE I KNOW HOW MUCH PAIN YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN. PLEASE.
You are a hoarder, if you have a Mustang tucked away for 6 years.
Hey mustie1 if I had something I wanted to send you if you pay shipping could you get in touch with me? It's well worth the shipping. I'd give it to you if you want it just as you've helped me out so much with everything I've been working on. I don't know how to contact someone on YouTube.
Welcome to the “How to run a battery down†show.
It's quite a task putting a car back on the road after its been sitting years and quite costly too, I did it to my old Toyota mr2, parked up 6 years, thankfully I had the good sense to keep it in the garage away from the elements, but the engine needed a complete overhaul every seal was shot including valve seals, tyres were shot and brakes needed rebuilding, for all if that though it did start up absolutely fine first turn of the key, learned a lesson to never have car sat for years on end really doesn't do them any good.
The only time I have my hat on backwards is when I lean over an open carburetor. When it backfires, my hat doesn’t fly as far and my eyebrows don’t singe as much.
Sounds awesome
Great video 🙂
Will she pee?
That is my dream car. If I had her I would love her so much. A neighbor of my dads has one at the side of his garage and hasn't moved her. Ahh the car of my dreams!!!!
Why don't you make sure you have a good battery before you start a video that would probably work a lot better for you.
