while cleaning up the garage these 2 outboards have been sitting many years, one was from a free pile and the other I believe came from a yard sale very cheap. lets see if they are any good and can be brought back to life.

Keep going , hope all the health issues go away for you both , looking forward to years of videos from you..
This guy is so legit! I know a damn good mechanic when I see one. He didn't clean the carb, and that kinda bothers me, but I'm OCD with engines. He is just trying to get them running he's not trying to rebuild them 😂
Just sitting here watching intently and I had the funniest thought. We created a power source in the internal combustion engine that basically requires the same thing as we or any living thing needs to function. Fuel – Gas for the engine – food for us. Engine has an electrical system so do we. Engine needs air to breath so do we. The engine needs everything running in proper order so do we. Now we gave engines brains to. Almost all of them today are computerized and you can communicate with them 😂
I just wish someone would give me a few small boat engines 😂. I search for small outboard motors and haven't found a free one anywhere 😅
Great Video. Batting .500 for the two engines isn't bad. I enjoyed watching from Norfolk , VA. USA
Glad to watch you tinker… you were trying to plug that line in the wrong way. I'm sure it fits. The little silver clip side goes into the brass end on the motor.
" Do some laundry"….LMAO….Yah Cave Man…..LOL
@10.07 you were trying the fuel connector on the wrong way round my friend. brass pin to metal clip side of connector. enjoying the video lots.
So glad I’m watching this now!, just got an 89 Grumman boat with a 7.5 mercury., hopefully this will help me get mine going
That little red button on the end of the tiller probably releases the forward and reverse
Few months back, had a spark in my old (91) car, crack exactly on the ceramic to metal area, only noticed it because it felt loose…
That Yamahaha has seen some saltwater
always interesting great viewing
wonder if the yamaha was used in salt water?
Just me or has no one else ever heard a primer bulb me noise
That paw is a reverse lock when in reverse that hook comes down to stop the motor from lifting out of the water in forwards it is up just incase the motor hit bottom it can still swing up
your political shirt is why I unsubscribed
not that you care, but that U wanted to express my thoughts
Hi soak it over night in mudiatic acid
I had an '86 Fiero that had a cracked insulator on one of the spark plugs. It started arcing and cutting out highway speeds.
Love the tee shirt 🤣
That little Yamaha looked like a salt water motor. Lost cause before you even started. The Merc was a great salvage. You do awesome work.
Just what is that blue water tank made from ?
No, we're not pressing you, just let us know you're okay!
Merci 👍
30 years of outboard wrenching……..screaming at the screen. Thanks for the entertainment!
G, day great video I hope you can remember how to put back together because I'm Lost lol
That Yammy was giving me heart palpitations. Always a bad sign seeing the white crud. Great video.
Lekker begin van het project!! Ben benieuwd naar de volgende video 👌
I have heard of doing an exploratory, but it looks like you are going to do the complete operation.
i could hear that plug arcing when you first tried to start it.
@Mustie, the black engine, there is something wrong with the idle adjust screw. when you took it apart, i heard a pop or snap, then when you put it together, it didnt move the arm like it did earlier in the video to actually adjust the idle.
Them tiller gear control mercurys were absolute junk worst design out there
I prefer Johnson/Evinrude OMC. With that said Yamaha>Mercury. I had a pair of Mercury 20hp years ago. They looked identical. Come to find out in a 3 year span they had like 7 diff ignition systems. Screw Merc.
The guy had talent….
I say again as I have before, thank you.
By watching you through the years I've learned so much. Your ferreting out the little idiosyncrasies that certain manufacturers incorporate in their machines and parts has saved me hours of time searching.
You are the MAN…
1:29:55 If I remember correctly I’ve worked on one of those many years ago if you pull off the lower leg there should be a coupler there but I can be wrong and if I remember it was on a mariner
1:29:25 I’m cringing right now there should be a couple are in there you have to undo
1: 1:21:06 Oh look you should pull that off
1:11:20 For crying out loud I thought you were gonna pull those two 12 mm or 13 mm or whatever the heck size those two bolts are that that shifter goes into on the underside of the engine because that would make the best sense
19:00 It almost sounds like there’s grinding gears in the lower leg
14:32 Thank you very much I was wondering if you were gonna check the telltale water Stream
Love the "Unburdened" shirt! Good on ya!
Reference to "Tool box clear out" and camera fog, put camera in container cover completley with rice and leave for a few days, moisture should dry out.
60 seconds in and he’s said the word “go” 55 times. Lol
Love this!
Hey Mustie have you considered putting a note on items to keep track of your treasures?
