  1. Hi must say this is an old video but looking through some of your older stuff, its great. My best mate had an beetle when we were kids. It had big wheels/tyres and handled well. But i also remember the wipers run of the spare tyre air pressure. How old would that have been?

  2. You sure know uh VW's my friend!…..I'm alway's coming back for new vid's!…Must have missed this one!.. Take care my friend (Kaptain Kangaroo)…✅🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘✅

  3. I know this video is old, but just as a heads up, bleach and water only introduce more water to the mold which is why it's there in the first place. A better option would be a mix of Borax and vinegar to kill the mold.

  4. Mustie my 1972's Super Beetle needs a lot of time to start the engine from the key. Battery is new and it runs fine afterwards. I've got a Pertronix ignitor. Maybe timing advance?. Any recommendation?

  5. Great video. It’s been many years since I worked to solve the many headaches presented by my 1967 Bug. It was my 3rd vehicle and I enjoyed it. While I don’t miss the headaches, I do miss the smells. If you’ve owned an older Bug you know what I mean. They have a distinct odor about them.

  6. This was my first car exactly except mine had high back seats. Wiper motor failed somewhere in S. Bend Indiana in a lake affect snow storm 1974. Oh the good times.

  7. Hey Mustie1 I have the chance to buy a 72 beetle, looks like someone's already been restoring it, but I have zero car knowledge, you think it would be a good car to learn on? And, it does start, I threw a battery on it and it cranked right up after sitting for years, where should I start?

  8. For a 1966 bug, daily driver, looks awesome, regarding the 67 or 68, I think the original muffler with the double, pipes instead of that single one sounds better, plus it*s not so low as the aftermarket exhaust it has, it looks good, but when it sits kinda low that is what worries me, especially if you have a single aftermarket muffler, if you hit a crater in the road (hole), it could actually rip of the single piece, or if you hit something that can reach that part of the muffler, it would be quite a task to fix.

  9. Love the videos of old VW's. I had a '70 that I bought in 85 for $1100 and kept three years. I put about $1k into it when I got it. Headers, heater boxes, tie rod ends, brakes, tires and a few misc things. That thing was a blast to drive around town. In the end I got tired of fixing it, and not having a decent heater and AC. Sold it and got a Mazda pickup. But I do miss the simplicity of the bug!
