Doing a simple front brake job on a 2019 Subaru Forester using OEM parts. Napa screwed me out of the parts I ordered from them but that’s ok. I like the OEM stuff 😁
-Enjoy!

  1. I always thought those pads fit way too tight in the bracket. Normally I shave them down and clip the wear indicator. Never realized the wear indicator acts like a spring though.

  2. Plot twist!!!! The Subaru customer was the actual NAPA employee and did that all on purpose to score some factory parts at the Napa discount 😂😂😂😂

  3. Well now im concerned.. i have a 2019 forester that i just changed tbr front pads on (bout it in 2022 from a dealership) and noticed the pads dont sit fully to the rotor. There was about 1/4" at the back of the pad that hadnt been touched at all by the disk. Did they possibly put the wrong rotors on the front?

  4. Yep. I had a piece of rust fall off a tail pipe. Landed in my eye.

Two visits to eye doctor. He used the equivalent of a dremel tool to get the embedded rust out of my eye.

  5. I watched your video because my own Forester needs rear brake pads, and I want to get a sense of what the job entails doing. Your wife is truly amazing — Mrs. O, thank you for getting the OEM parts needed. 2 hours of driving is just no fun at all. Thank you for helping him. (And yes, I know this video was 1 year ago.)

  6. so the rotors you choose, is it mostly NAPA you go to? i've mostly used Rockauto (DIYer), someone was saying the ones with the 'machined' surface look that are coated are the ones that last longer, if they're in a 'white' box, and dont' have that machined surface (where the brakes hit) they only last 30k miles or so….
