You heard it correct folks. I get a comeback. A TOWED IN COMEBACK! The worst of all comebacks 😥. This is every mechanics nightmare. We always try to do our best but it is inevitable that you WILL get a comeback if you do this long enough. The good news is, it wasn’t totally my fault…kind of.
-Enjoy!

  1. A bit of heat and squishy squishy strategically on that fitting would make it work but I suppose you don't want to take chances with the customers car.

  2. A rare win for Dorman! I haven’t had much luck with their parts. I’ve found that they often stock parts nobody else has, otherwise I wouldn’t use Dorman.

  3. Dorman is associated with AZ so I automatically dislike them. Kicker is, not the first time I've heard of their parts being proper when others weren't or as in a Honda part I think the dealer part was plastic and failed and you could get the Dorman part in metal and it heald up better. I think it was a Honda part, I'm old. LOL Great video Eric. Now I gotta go find out why you can't adjust the manifold.

  4. Only if if one percent of mechanics wre as honest as u are this world would be a better place God Bless u for all ur great content 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

  5. What if you ordered the echlin intake manifold. Would it even fit their own manifold? If it did fit would their manifold fit the engine or would there be more issues there.

  6. This is a potentially hazardous situation. What if this failed and the customer lost control of the vehicle? Some enterprising attorney might wish to make a federal case out of this.

  7. you got that right NO one cares anymore! I have emailed a few places about BAD service IF they get back it is always we are sorry about your bad service OR something like that! NO THING gets done

  8. You just answered a question for me. My car has a dual points distributor. I bought a set of Standard points for it. The sheet metal portion of the fixed points on the driver's side did not line up with the moving points (the passenger side was fine). The fold in the sheet metal was not in the correct place when compared with NOS points. I then purchased a set of Echlin points-same exact thing. I thought that, either they came from the same factory, or one was copying the other-now I know from your video-same factory.

  9. this is the first channel I've ever joined or subscribed to bc of Eric"s magnetic personality. he's really good and i wish his shop was in my area. he's a machine and what I've seen doesn't stop til the problem is repaired. restores faith to the sector.

  10. So did they just pack the wrong part in the box, or did they really engineer and manufacture something that didn't fit and the quality control is bad, or they just cross-list it for an application without validating it with a real car?

  11. Holy crap, Dorman saves the day. Surely the apocalypse is imminent…

With all the plastic we're seeing on cars these days, I wonder, are any of the more affordable additive manufacturing (3D printing) units able to produce a part that stands up to oil, gas, and years of hot/cold cycles? That might not be a solution in this case but I'm pretty sure I hold a state record for breaking brittle plastic parts.

  12. What is wrong with NAPA these days. Last year I bought NAPA top and bottom front suspension ball joints for my 1989 S10 Blazer 4 WD and neither part would fit. I ordered Delco Professional ball joints on Amazon and they both fitted perfectly.
