In this video I bring you along as I have a look at a Chevy Traverse that has a customer complaint that when she tries to pick up speed the ABS and traction control goes crazy. More than likely a failed magnetic ring on a wheel bearing but we still need to find out what one is the bad one. -Enjoy!

I had a very similar problem and similar symptoms. It was the transmission control module connector on the side of the transmission. The connector was badly corroded. I replaced the connector and wiring pigtails and verified operation.
GARBAGE ⛽ AND A BIC
I have one for you. I’ve been chasing this gremlin for about four months. I have a 2012 Chevy Colorado crew cab 4×4 5.3L 4 speed automatic. We bought this car almost new in 2015. It only had about 40,000 miles. I have meticulously maintained it. It runs and drives great. However, it started, at random, throwing Traction Fault, ABS Fault and Brakes with associated dash lights. Absolutely no drivability issues or problems. I have had electrical problems in the past with the splice packs. That’s where I started. I checked every ground. Re-cleaned and assembled. No change this problem happens every day. Self clears overnight. Then it works the next day for about 30-40 minutes of driving. Codes I get consistently are P0856 on the ECU and random communication codes. Usually U1000 sometimes U 1040, sometimes C0240. I’ve disassembled the fuse box.. checked all of the connections. Cleaned, reassembled checked all of the fuses. I’ve had the BCM out looked it over, no problems. Finally replaced and reprogrammed the EBCM. Still no change. I notice sometimes when hook my Launch scan tool to the OBD2, it acts a bit erratic. My son has the exact truck. I’ve crossed referenced all of my trouble shooting with his. I even tried his traction control switch. My problem seems to be on the torque delivered and request circuit.. Ive been all over that truck checking the wiring harness and connections… continuity. Voltages and drops… you name it. I also replaced and reprogrammed the ECM/ECU/PCM module. No change. Before the P0856 code sets and I can talk to the EBCM. I’ve monitored wheel speed sensors, steering angle etc. all normal. When the code sets torque delivered is 100% even though the torque request values still request different percentages. The CAN bus checks normal. Asleep 60 ohms between CAN high and low. Both my signal and chassis grounds read normal continuity to ground and battery voltage to the hot wire. Ignition on..2.7V on CAN high and 2.3V CAN low. However, when I start the engine those values rise a bit higher than I feel is normal. 3V on the high and 2.8 on the low. Years ago, I replaced the ignition switch. It seems to still work fine. I rebuilt the starter (one of my former trades). It still works fine. I replaced the alternator about three years ago. I’ve closely monitored it. It appears to regulate voltage normally. I’m totally stumped!! I watch your videos all the time. You may be able to shine some light on my problem! I hope! Otherwise, I plan to just live with it. I’ve already pulled the instrument cluster and blocked out the associated lights!😂 One more thing. Before the code sets I can bleed my brakes normally through the scanner. I know the components are good. I do hear a clicking sometimes when I’m using the scanner. It sounds like a relay coming somewhere around the AC clutch location. I can’t pinpoint it or find it. Not sure if that’s of relevance or not. All that be said. I never get a CEL. Thanks in advance for any help!!! Great channel BTW. My son watches you too.
😂😅
if the front end alignment is out of whack it throws a code steering wheel Angle sensor. Under the steering column. my.scan tool shows that the problem with service traction control and stability light is on the dashboard
its not the cause of service Traction ontrol and stability light to come on I changed both front wheel bearings and my scan tool said front wheel speed sensors are the problem. fixed and gave it a front end alignment
The same problem how much to fixed? Please and thank you
What is the the cost for the service that you doing for this car
I have a set, and I absolutely love them!
I have a question.i have a 2011 Chevy traverse .is making big puls when i driving and have the ABS on do you guys think that is the problem??? Pls help
I have a 2013 traverse. Stabilitrak, traction control and around 40mph it stutters real hard and fails to accelerate causing those warning lights to come on.. back off gas and you can adjust it away and drive smoothly again but warning lights stay on for awhile before clearing themselves.. only happens when you like gun or get on the engine or up to 40mph ish..
I made up a puller, using the wheel stud and a slap hammer. Two hits and it’s off.😊. Nice thing about the even bolt pattern.
Just did the rear hub on a 2015 traverse. This was hands down the best video to follow. I didn't have the cool bolts, so I improvised with bolts from the hardware store. The bolts got destroyed, but the hub popped off beautifully.
Thank you for this video! I got a 2017 traverse with the same problem. This should help me out! You gained a follower for sure! BTW I grew up not far from Avoca in Wellsville, NY
this didn't resolve my problem on my 2016 Chevy Traverse Lt AWD i replaced both front wheel speed sensors and wheel bearings after the same scan tool said left front wheel speed sensor and wheel bearing. Traction control and stability lights are still on the dashboard any help would be appreciated ty
Great vid. Same issue..never heard of magnetic wheel bearing
Could you take with a the finger puller.
Exact same problem just happened on my 2017 Traverse Premier a few days ago. Service Stabilitrak System, ABS off, Traction off, All Wheel Drive off. Right rear wheel bearing was the issue.
Well done! you're clearly a master Mechanic and Know what you're doing! I didn't know there was a magnet in that wheel.
Hi! I’m having the SAME EXACT issue with my 2015 traverse LTZ. Once I hit 45-55mph the motor will start jumping and acting crazy kinda similar to a misfire with the same service lights on. Was this traverse doing that? I desperately need help resolving this issue! This is my only means of transportation for me and my kids
But does the engine stutter
Mr. O is the best. Absolutely love his videos. I had a mechanic in Phoenix that was on his level but he retired. One of the worst days of my life 🤕
Solve them thru all the way, including visualizing every aspect of the problem.
I can remember 20 inches of snow trying to put on break. Shoes me, my father and brother would screwdrivers and pliers you make it look so easy. You have the right tools on the left. Maybe that's what we need it. I left how we had on about 5 in. Have a good one
My 2012 traverse is doing this right now. How much does something like this cost to be repaired?
That's a expensive repair labor wise
Our car did this at the start of a 1 hr. drive to take my in-laws home after Christmas. This video was a LIFE SAVER!! Thank you so much!!
What is the chaise cheapest scanner that you can use for this car
