Hey Ray them 1R-1807 filters don’t have a bypass valve in them the cat engines they use them on have a bypass valve in the engine! So when you use that filter there is no restriction in the oil galleys to create pressure on start up which will eventually kill your bearings
Would you just use a funnel please !!
Got the same kit for my 07 LBZ ran 10qts of RotellaT5 and 1quart of Hot Shots sticktion eliminator.
Right of the bat operating engine temps are at least 30-40 degrees cooler on average. Lower Egts, and additional filtration. I have positive results so far.
Need to do the cat filter transition to the Allison transmission.
I would’ve just changed the oil if I was doing a filter change/upgrade even if I still had 53% it just save me from doing it soon after doing a filter change/upgrade even if not to be rude just work smarter not harder
7:10 How do I get me a threaded adapter Sir ??? I like your videos and watch them SIr. Please keep up the great work too. Thank you Ray too. 😀
Friend, I want to put a larger oil filter on my Ram 1500 4.7 V8, the original filter thread is M22x1.5, I want to put a filter with a 1.16 thread, can this kit be used on it? Thanks.
Need that extra quart if you run a quart low. Now yur even. Lol 😮
Now you have no anti bypass valve
do you still have the paperwork for the Oil testing, Costco vs Rotella?
That would be something to check out.
For those who are of the opinion that all filters are pretty much the same, or that X or Y company makes CAT filters and are therefor just as good, I would point you in the direction of the Adept Ape channel, and suggest you watch his video titled "Are CAT filters worth the money?" The specifically relevant part is from 1:50 to about 4:30
Is there any reason why you would not put on a PPE oil pan versus leaving the stock pan which holds like a half a quarter oil that you can’t drain
I use to work on jet engines and that has nothing to do with this video.
Definitely gonna do this on my truck, especially since I can get these filters for free from work lol
we need a brake clean spray can compilation video 14:10
Wow we use 5w-30 synthetic oil in Scotland
Looks like oil coming from the area above and to the right as you filmed the oil sample part
So I wonder why this vehicle has oil life and other gasoline cars and trucks don't unless newer ones do now I don't know
Average mpg 15.3 ? That's worse than a Jaguar 5.3.
Love the video and you’re funny hehe …
So question you’re saying that upgrade gets you more oil pressure?
I currently have trouble with my Duramax giving me low pressure oil. I recently change the sensor and it’s the if I do this upgrade will it help?😱 you think soo
Ray I'd be fitting a stone sheild on that big boy .I'd be worked about more surface area to hit or get damaged
use a napa gold filter i get 12k on changes
That is a big filter. I would have put at least some oil in it. I do with every turbo engine. I just don't want to hurt the turbo with a few seconds of oil starve
Wondering if they make this for 7.3 Powerstroke. Would really love to have a Cat filter on my 350sb and 454bb now as well 🤣
I don't think many caught it late in the video, Zombie playing in the background.
I can't believe you don't use Rotella. Incredible. You are looking to buy a new truck?
Awsome😊😊😊😊
i see by the way you pour the oil, you live life on the edge.
Ray really thinking of getting one of these! Any update on this? Thanks.
After re and re watching this at your time of 10:29 I see something hanging down at the 12 o-clock position. It is too late now?? is that as it looks like Teflon tape? Or was it the thread?
Yes I try to watch you all the time. Keep up the good work! Thanks
if you get a cheaper creeper it will not creep away, the wheels fall off
put left over oil on your back tyers for better spin
Hmmm 🤔 interesting, do they make a magnetic adapter for that filtration mechanism adaptive adapter.
(say that real fast 10 times) 😊
Mandela alert. Ray I swear I've seen you use oil drain oil to lube the new oil filter.
If you read this or not, but where did you get your magnetic lights
so many lies, is this even a video?! WHO KNOWS, its probably a book! 😛
Ray I have a question, if you would answer it. I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra v8 SR5 with 65,000 miles and in 2019 had the brake fluid flushed and they said they did a BG flush. My parking light just came on (21 deg. weather right now) came on when i pressed the regula brake to change out of park to reverse. Brake fluid is at the minimum mark so i was going to add some DOT 3. Called the dealer and they said i would need to flush it again, because i can't use Regular DOT 3 because of the BG flush. They said I would have to purchase the whole packet $65.00 to get a quart.
Trying to make this as short as possible sorry. When they were doing the flush in 2019, they came into the waiting room and said there was a problem. One of the cylinders popped out and they could not push it back in place, so they didn't have a OEM brake calipers and replaced it with something else. After watching your work on brakes apparently they didn't support them or block them from coming out while beading the brakes. QUESTION IS simply what type fluid should i use to fill the brake reservoir back to full. Thanks
My dad always said "with cars sh*t happens". Have to be flexible.
LOOKING AT YOUR SUMP . YOU GOT AN OIL LEAK COMEING FROM THE TOP . MAY BE ROCKER GASKET.
I like the oil changes
I like how you are tinkering with the car and also chatting while you are doing that. And how you position the camara so we can see what you're doing. 😄
Cat oil filter doodad was amusing, but we have cars. Show us car doodads please.
There were no lies in the making of this video. Just a couple of accidental misinformation.
how is this any better than frequent oil changes?
No it’s an oil dilution…and a filter conversion…
You might want to rethink your decision here, Cat oil filters do not have bypass values in them. The AC Delco does. Do a little more research to verify.
Good luck!
So, just a question: do you run DEF? If not, you know there’s a converter kit you can use. It does absolutely help with the Diesel fumes.
Memo to self: If I ever show up at Ray's Garage for service, bring a case of Brake Kleen with me to save on service charges. LOL RAY, for the love of God please stop apologizing for doing an oil change. I'm PRETTY sure nobody is REEing because you're doing oil changes on the channel with all the good stuff you do, and if they are….SCREW 'em, let them go elsewhere.
I'm still subscribed Ray.ðŸ˜
Ray 😄✌ï¸âœŒï¸
Of all the times you don't wear gloves when you're working with diesel oil…LOL that's the only time I work.
what'd the lab say?
