Great video attitude and tenacity. Persistence you overcame the obstacles most would quit
I watch and learn you explain all your reasons also. Thanks.
I worked on mine for 4 days before I gave up. My body hurt and my brain said NO!
I thought for sure that you forgot to tighten the pipe going into the egr but I guess it didn’t get recorded! Lots of patience with Hyundai engineering!!
Well done 🎉
You are one "POB" today (haHa)
What were the EGR codes that stored?
These cars are a pain in the ass. I had to replace a radiator on a 2006 and it took me 4 hours of trying to get one bolt started on the darn thing. My hand and arm were torn to bits by sharp edges as I tried to jam my hand in to get the bolt started. I was dipping blood all over the place. I nearly cried when I finally got it. It is insane how they engineer these things. I think these engineers should be made to work on their designs just as architects should have to pick up a hammer and try and build some of the goofy shit they design.
This is the one reason why I hate front wheel drive cars
OH man,
You are bad ass. This video was exactly what I needed to see for my Hyundai. I have the same damn one with the same amount of miles. Your video on this thing was more than helpful. Just watching you run into the issues you were running into. You saved ne a lot od grief . Well I havent done the EGR yet so I will let you know on that one.
Sincerely
Chris
People who design these things should be made to work on them for a month.
Another great day and experience with Ray
I hope you made huge money on this b***h!
I am Häntz… And this is Fräntz… We will kick sand in your face cuz your fingers are soft, squishy and weak… If you join us, we will pump… You… Up! (All said in Arny Shwartz voice and SNL was actually funny)
Did you notice that the O2 sensor connectors on the car were light grey and dark grey like the conmectors you pulled out of the boxes?
I didnt see you tighten the bolt on the EGR valve!!
Ray you're working on a mess M ESS In a way you know more about This have fun🙄🙄
im a kia tech and that is also hyundai and i've done this job it is a real pain in the ass and doesn't pay that well either
Don't forget the egr is till lose
I saw the EGR gasket drop, and I was like “Oooohh!!!!†The same reaction when you see someone take a hard fall.
“It’s Milla Time!†🺠ðŸ‘ðŸ»
Standing ovation for a job well done!!! ðŸ‘🤠You are the MAN !!!
Never accept defeat !!!!!!!!!
What is the song playing in the background at 6:50 to 7:05. Iv heard it before
I don't understand why you needed to break free the EGR nut/thread from the piping. Seems it would be fine even if frozen in place.
6:14 The unforgiven by Metallica the vocals are different can someone help me figure this out?
5:02 I usually wipe some lubricant on the threads so it will be much more easier to unscrew it again on the next replacement. I always add little lubricant on the o2sensor and sparkplug threads. Because heat and some rust or carbon buildups can make it hard to unscrew it. Well already done this method since 4year so far everything was easy to remove.
Another happy customer. 😉
What a heck of a job that was. WOW! You are the man!
I use a magnetic pickup tool to install those metal gaskets in those areas. Makes it easy to line up
Another great job boss.
Ray as hard as you fought that sensor I would use little never sizie
Watching the series on this Santa Fe, reminded me of why working on the exhaust side of an engine always takes longer than what you think. Jobs like this will cost anyone that works flat rate.
Feel like these videos help me decide what cars to never buy in a million years and this Santa Fe is one of those. I'll stick by trucks that have all the room in the world to work under the hood
You probably know this but something that might have made it a little easier on with that EGR gasket. Lineup and start the bottom bolt start the top bolt thread the gasket then start threading the top bolt. Back out the bottom bolt swing the gasket down and thread the bottom bolt
