I was an owner of '79 Jawa-634. It's almost a new bike with this mileage. Just a little rusty & dusty. 🙂

I never realized that Jawa made a bike in this style/type.the only jawa’s I had ever seen or heard of was their speedway bikes.

A 350 2-stroke?? this must have been a beast back in the day I would love to see a full engine rebuild in this and see it rip the road once again
I owned a CZ125 and if you held down the combined kicker and gear change pedal you could use it like a clutch , weird bike , the WORST bike I have ever owned

According to my father who owned a 175 or 250ccm Jawa in the 60s, these 2 cylinder 1 carb 350ccm versions were known to develop issues because the one carb would feed the cylinders differently.

I bought a theft recovery 1994 Kawasaki 650 enduro. It had been stray painted over, I used contact cleaner to remove the paint,it did not hurt the original paint or decals. Took a lot of hard rubbing, it all but came off.
speaking from personal experience (well rd400e v's Jawa (or "yava" if you like) were only similar in the number of wheels, cylinders, and the fuel!

Yeah that delivery guy said it right, it's pronounced YAVA. Had one long time ago, in my teens, loved it.
I had one new in 72. The shift pattern was backward so it was confusing to switch to a Japanese bike. I saw a nicer one sell at Anamosa IA last fall for $4000
So, how about an update
Excellent acquisition, love the old jawas, cz's and mz's as they're tough as old boots (tho the regulator needs to be maintained to get the best out of the electrical/ignition system), don't expect the power delivery to be the same as japanese (power is mid-range not top-end, tho setting ignition timing to 2mm BTDC lifts peak power to about 6000 rpm), the gearchange/kickstarter lever has a third function in that when you move the lever up or down to change gear it also disengages the clutch making clutchless (not using handlebar lever) changes and (with practice and a correctly set up clutch mechanism) one handed pull aways possible.
All in all I personally think they're great fun if you like back to basics functionality.
