The chaos may have looked like a product of the deep divisions in Washington today. But, the film finds, it had been decades in the making — and was just the latest chapter in a decades-long battle to shape the nation’s highest court.

  1. When Joe Biden was President from 2021 to 2024, he nominated a black American woman named Ketjani Brown Jackson and he saw that she was well suited for the job as a Supreme Court justice. And during her confirmation hearings, Democratic senators were overjoyed about her nomination and confirmation and saw her as a well qualified person for the job as a supreme court justice. But Republican senators like Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton and Lindsey Graham didn’t see her as a well suited person for the job and they voted no. And why? Because they didn’t see her as a well qualified person. Now if I was a nominee to be a Supreme Court justice and I entered the confirmation hearings, I hope that both Senators on both sides will treat me with kindness and respect and not question my personal views and beliefs. But I’m not well suited for the job.

  2. Being a supreme court Justice definitely not for me. Can anyone imagine if the US President Democrat or Republican nominated me to become the next Supreme court justice? Well let me say this, If that did happen and I entered the confirmation hearings, I sincerely hope and pray that Senators on both sides will treat me with respect and kindness and not question me about my personal beliefs and let peace and harmony and civilized behavior prevail.

  3. Whenever there’s a nomination of a Supreme Court judge for the Supreme Court house in Washington DC, there’s always going to be political arguments on both sides. Republican vs Democrats.

  4. That an out of control freak like Kavanaugh got anywhere near this process is an embarrassment that will never be forgotten. Can you imagine the look on McConnell's face had he been nominated by Obama?

  5. This documentary is all over the web. I want to point out that this Doc is disingenuous: mostly republicans and their rationalizations and excuses for revenge, not policy or the future. Bork was a corporatist religious bigot, did not deserve the seat. Originalism is a racist trope to plutocrats. People like Bork and O'Connell are courtiers to real power: the oligarchy or oilogarchy!

  6. What has become of our Republicans and Democrats? Why can't they just for once work together in peace and harmony to ensure the safety of our country? If Abraham Lincoln or Ronald Regan were alive today seeing and hearing the chaos erupting on both sides, they would've been speechless and outraged by their misbehavior.

  7. The Bork thing is a ridiculous thing to focus on. The guy got a vote and he lost. Reagan nominated Kennedy. Kennedy was confirmed. End of story. If the guy hadn't been a Nixon toadie involved in the whole Saturday Night Massacre thing he might have been confirmed but there's nothing you can do about that after the fact. The attacks were over the top (just like the Kavanaugh hearings) but how do you expect the Democrats to treat a guy like that?
