good job
Hi Mustie1. I am 73 y/o and a few years ago would have never repaired my lawn mower. It ran once for a short time and quit and never started again. I thought since it did run it had spark and compression. It turned out it was a bad coil. It runs like a top now. Because of you and how you talk about people who would rather throw the mower away because it wouldn’t start. Thank you for giving me the confidence to look into it.
Heat the bent blade up with a "blue tip wrrench" & bend it back.
Do you want to sale the riding lawns mower
Where most cars have vroom, that camper has shroom!
Yeah…… Bit late for me to comment on the mower now…🤦
This is a six year old video, so I'm sure you have learned by now that the gel is not related to gas stabilizers, but rather the result of ethanol attracting water and forming a gel. Taryl did a months long study of gas stabilizers and found that ethanol gas with no stabilizers produced the most gel, while non-ethanol gas produced none or nearly none.. It turned out that over months of storage, the gas stabilizers generally did very little to reduce the gel. The best was Stabil Marine 360, but it eventually failed too. Results: Ethanol gas can be used in small engines if used quickly, but will deteriorate rubber parts over time and should NEVER be stored for long periods in small engines. It's worth the money to use non-ethanol. Pre-mix also works, but is very overpriced.
HOW YOU KNOW THE THE FUEL STABLIZERS CAUSE THAT
I'd put a new blade on it
DANGER DANGER DANGER do not buy this POS it will suck the life out of you and it constantly needs work and money. I've got the 42 inch and for the last 8 or 9 years it has cause me nothing buy problems.
I know you often save money and time by saving so much stuff but still , I think you hold on to way too much crap. All that room used to occasionally save a few bucks here and there just isn't worth it these days
They make a tap to clean the threads in the main jet
Man a finding a mower in that condition would cost at least 2000$ here in Belize🇧🇿
Had a Poulan Pro weed whipper. Biggest POS I have ever encountered. Yank you brains out to get it started, died constantly, spool tangled all the time. Worked on the carb, used it for a season. Finally smashed the ^&%$ out of it with a 10# sledge and threw it in the trash.
thanks have fun
Hi Mustie, I've been watching your channel for several years, I thoroughly enjoy all of the contents and projects you do. You remind me of myself, I too tinkered with many things, not as much as you but have been in the automotive field most of my life, from mechanic to service manager. I looked forward everyweek to see what is your next project, and I learned a lot from you about lawn mowers. I too own a Huscarvarna self propel that I need to fix. My mower of choice is my 10 year old Poulan 38 inch riding mower. I nursed this back to life so many times you would be proud of me. I did a mustie move when my front steering rod broke, actually the bajj joint rod the very long one. I used a 1/2 inch cooper union drilled a hole in the middle to fit on the drag link. and 2 hose clamps to hold it in place, and viola we have steering again. Cheap fix, 96 piece of cooper. Thanks for listening and please keep those videos coming. Bob from South Jersey shore
This was very informative and at the end we get to go on a magic mushroom ride six stars brother
Dude! That machine romps. And you got the whole herd of attachments! …SCOOOORRRRRE! (Remember that sports/soccer commentator who would stretch that word out? Or the Lakers "Fast-Break": "Kareem…Magic…Worthy….SCORRRE!!!)
"Deep-hoard-Diving!" "Reaching deep" ….I know I have something in the back… you just need a waste oil, gas, petroleum burner to augment yir winter heat…
Love the bus
What do u do with all the things u fix
It’s not five weight it’s more like zero W-2 LOL 😂 you
Your video is very informative and your thought process while working on machines is invaluable. Love it. Quick question though, when the carb was idling but not revving up, did you just adjust the mixture screw to take care of it?
Always a good start by washing the mouse piss off first!
If people would use premium gas only you wouldn’t need fuel stabilizer and there would be no gunk build up.
Wow – I've seen gas-contaminated oil before, but nothing that approached this! (8:00). That's as bad as adding two quarts of Motor Flush to your car's crankcase, then draining it. Also, Mustie… watch using Simple Green in your ultrasonic cleaner on aluminum parts. Simple Green can do a real number on them if used excessively.
So should I not be using fuel stabilizers? I usually toss some Stabil in my mower/blower when their respective seasons end.
Very Good!…
Cut off a small length of multi strand electrical wire, preferably with thick strands but not too thick. Use a shouldering iron to heat and melt the strands into the plastic. Basically works like rebar for plastic.
Is that a hospital IV stand you are using to hold the temporary gas tank???/
plastic weld is great but for repairing cracks it will never be as strong as a solid piece especially on aged plastic, so the metal was a good idea. And black plastic sometimes is recycled thus making it even more weaker. Polyethylene plastics do lose structural integrity over time or after being recycled (molecules not bonding as well, especially recycled.)
You did a great job fitsen the lawn mower
Just use Gunk .
Nice hippie bus lol
The best kept lawn in the WHOLE of America! 😉
I'd sh– Can all that grass pickup
I thought for sure you would set the steering wheel straight before the video ended. maybe that's in part 2.
