Holy crap they’ve hit a lot of curbs in that car😂
The wires in the clock spring are "ribbon cables."
Came across this vid as I have a new-to-me Hyundai Santa Fe with airbag fault codes. Clock spring is inexpensive enough for a first try at a fix.
I keep waiting for him to go to the right side and pull out the bulb? Because every time I have had this trouble with rapped flashing, it has been the bulb! And earlier when he was checking out the blinker signals. The right side wasn't flashing? It was out! I thought he was going to return to the right side and perform the same test on the right side as he was doing on the left side?
Usually when you get a rapped flash in the turn signals, it is sometimes caused by a blown bulb? At least that's been my experience.
You also need to get with the dealership with the VIN code of that car and make sure it's not under a rod bearing recall because they assembled that 2.4 and after the machine work they never deburred anything and it clogs up oil passages on the crankshaft Hyundai just put a motor in mine it's a 2012 free of charge
10:34 Oh, the airbag service Illuminator is off now. Hmmmm.
“Ribbon cable†– not used much in PCs anymore, but used heavily in laptops and phones.
"indicator lights, although not a popular choice among motorists" 😂
Clock spring is an extended recall item (15 years) on the Elantra
But half I don't put them on.They turn anyway
Thousands of dollars for that "snapon" garbage scanner and they STILL want more money are you fking kidding me? man return that garbage.
My 13 Élantra needs a clock spring since the cruise and controls on wheel don’t work.
It is called a Ribbon
I have heard them called ribbon cables.
3 months later, where is the follow up on this car? I am still puzzled.
Why don't you check the new one, just saying!
What was the result? I don’t see a part 2 video as promised
Aww, man. I’d have liked to see an ohms test on the replacement clock spring
I had a bad turn signal bulb in my 97 Civic once that caused some very similar behavior to this. It used the same dual filament (one filament for park lamps, one for turn signal, since they are at different intensities and require different circuits) setup. Took some extensive bulb-swapping and testing but come to find out the two positive legs of the bulb were shorted together. The front turn signal would flash, inverse of the rear one, at the reduced park lamp intensity. It also caused fast flash – the different filament, and, in fact, the two shorted together, as well, all have different resistance characteristics. (That model Civic used a thermal flasher but same concept in resistance-monitoring computer circuitry.)

Why not get Dave to film his work in the shop too if he doesn’t want to narrate just do his vids as Timelapse
Damn that customer beat the shit out of that car.😂😂😂 It looks like that person cannot afford to maintain their car, but that doesn’t stop them from driving it. 😂😂
Lol "although not a popular choice amongst motorists" 😂
Hey Ray, are you a fan of the instinct handle snap on screwdrivers you have? I have a Matco set of screwdrivers, but using them my hands cramp up a ton when there’s more than 3 screws holding a component on and I’m thinking about trying out those snappy screwdrivers.
That scanner for 5K should come with a lifetime subscription!!!!!
So what is the final solution for the headlights?
