I have found over time that sticking to your diagnostic thought process will 99% of the time lead you down the shortest path of finding the answer to your problem. Even when it is something as simple as fixing a low beam that is out. Hey, you folks are the ones that said you’d watch anything haha

  1. Hello have a charging problem with my 2005 pathfinder . Took alternator out had it tested at auto parts store , they said it was alright had the battery tested all is ok checked all grounds were good new battery ends put on . could it be the 3 pin connector on the alternator that is bad ? need original wire pin colors to put on the new one, cause put old alternator on and still not charging only 12.1 volts please help if you can. PS. all fuses ok and i have no battery light working on the dash even just on the acc. ? or running

  2. Hi, great video, do you have a video on harbor freight icon scan tool t8? diy here looking to get my 1st scan tool. Don’t fix cars so don’t want a 5k scan tool. Thank you for any suggestions.

  3. Outstanding Mr. O. As a DIYer I learned a lot and you did a service to all the honest mechanics out there. They are few and far between. I was laid off from my job and went to a large chain to get an inspection (I'm a bottom feeding down-stater in NY 🙂 ). I told them my situation and they said they couldn't pass me without a brake job and said I needed new rotors. I said give me the new pads and I will have to get the rotors done later. I'll live with the excessive wear on the pads. They charged me for the brake job and inspection for more than my unemployment check. Less than a year later my brakes were grinding and a friend at my new job helped me out. We pulled the wheels and discovered they charged me for a brake job they never did. I've done my own brakes ever since. Your channel is entertainment and a Godsend to so many people trying to get by. Thank you.

  4. Thank you for the video Mr. O I would never say any of your videos are dumb. You are by far one of the best auto techs I’ve seen on YouTube that is willing to explain and share your knowledge. Thank you and keep up the great work sir🙏

  5. ….. (It is well)….with MY soul (with my soul)…..it is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is Sunday morning, and I have a major toothache. But just hearing Eric O start this beautiful hymn is worth the price of admission. Never be ashamed to sing the praise in the shop Mr O

  6. Can anyone tell me where to buy Full brand oil filter s? Napa was where i was going but they are drying up. Ended up buy wix from rock auto. They were bought by mann and hummel. The regular wix are Mexican and the xp are polish. I know what kilmer would say about that. The full are made in Thailand and look to be quality, been using for years.

  7. Hello folks , got the honda here, it's got the big 1.6 gcv, oh Wrong channel. You mentioned PDM, power distribution module. On my Polaris 2007 sportsman 500 , the system was dead after having the battery on a charger all winter. After much prayer and research I decided it was the pdm that the genius engineers replaced the fuse box with. The local shop wanted $500 for the Chinese part. Was able to buy from a shop in Minnesota for 350. I sold the Polaris.

  8. 1955 1959 chevrolet and GMC trucks only had one standard fuse and that was on the dome light circuit on the headlamp switch. A fusebx was optional if you added optional features (radio heater etc) simple but dangerous.

  9. Object oriented modular code is where it's at. You just need a CS degree now a days + experience with SCADA networks, Modbus, CANbus, be NET+ and CCNP certified.
Also, I disagree about Nissan being low end of the spectrum. 1972 Datsun 1200 was the best, in my day!

  10. I had no idea I could still do "major electrical" LOL 05 Chevy 3/5 ton, $18, 2 minutes, and zero tools to change a bulb, in the parking lot. 2024 King Ranch, 3 hours and $1500 for the same job. I need my head examined for even buying the thing !

  11. Happened to me : light bulb kaputt, put a new one in, doesn't work. Figured it was because being a cheap a$$ I got the cheapest one. Bought another one, still doesn't work. Being a company car and quite busy I left it for weeks. When I came back to it I figured "You know what, I never tried exchanging bulbs with the other side". Guess what, it works.

Lesson : don't buy cheap bulbs.

  12. So honestly. This is not fawning admiration, but how is it that any other shops still exist in your area? In Straya in small town areas people quickly learn who does good work and can be relied on and those that can’t. Who is keeping these other shops alive?
