Put air in cylinder. Take appart the intake valve spring. Use a drill and choke cleaner. Then a good lube

I can't believe gas can get that bad.
I don't think modern small gas engines are really built like they used to be. The gas really isn't great either. I have a Kubota bx2350, it has a 3 cylinder Kubota diesel, 650 hours and runs like new. You don't really hear about bad diesel fuel either

At least you are not working on a Cub cadet. I have to remove the engine to replace head gasket
Was that pushrod still bent?
This is why I buy non-ethanol fuels for my small engines. You know, you can buy new push rods for these. It's losing power because you know that push rod isn't perfectly straight. @25:00… You can see it's still bent. You fix everything else the right way, don't half-ass this. Get new ones. @27:20… Now you can be a REAL Florida man and drive it to the liquor store.
Presumably you noticed you still have a bent pushrod…..?? Yes, you did, I noted that before the end of the vid.
This is the sort of thing I have been fixing since I was about 17 or 16.. and still do for friends…for the last 60 years.. sio I also enjoy watching videos on the smaller motors.
