Check out Shawn Finks 1963 Turbo Wagon he brought on Drag Week, the car ran low 8’s all week and yanked a wicked wheel stand in Indy. Here’s some more video of his car.

  1. The driver seems like he needs to spool up his demeanor. “Mr. Personality”…..he is not.

  2. I've been an avid wrencher and reader about horsepower for forty years, since 13, and I remember the lack of enthusiasm of magazine writers concerning turbos and turbo lag. Seems some stubborn racers put those problems to rest

  3. Im glad so many of these dude are cool with you showing off their rides so I can watch this shit all day at work XD  lol

  4. I have the same headlights in my super highly modified jeep Rubicon wrangler and in my 2013 Jeep Rubicon 10th anniversary which is optioned out and highly modified

  5. jesus christ that turbo has the same circumference as a bloody dinner plate. Seen them that big on diesels but a smallblock gas job……un-real!! Disgusting power to make a 4000lb plus wagon move like that…..I truly am jealous!!

  6. Это волга.

  7. So it's not fully streetable because it's not driven in the snow?

I have a nearly stock 92 GMC 2wd shortbed in the driveway that can't hook up in the rain even with 275/60r15s BFG TAs. Snow? Never take it out; it'd get stuck. It doesn't have a radio. According to your definition, it's as streetable as Fink's Nova.

  8. "The transmission is a 3-speed Jeffco planetary with a Bruno setup that uses a PTC 9.5-inch converter. The highway speeds required on Drag Week and daily driver use are made possible with a GV overdrive unit, using a custom (by GV) adapter plate and shaft."

I know the car by what I've read; such as he's been in 2012 and 2013 DWs, totaling 2600+ street miles in those events alone. The only thing he's needed to replace on the trans (he acquired used) is the tailshaft bearing.

  9. So it's a Lenco 3spd and GV overdrive, or what ? I ask you because you seem to know the car. And if converter, how you transbrake a Lenco?
