Traded to Harvey for Honda 50’s pile as I recall
Something 😂
I learn someone everytime i watch. Thanks
Nice series on this bike. Thanks!
Bike seems to move along pretty good. Sounds nice with that muffler.
Excellent job on this one Musty!
Hi, Darren….I came back in time from your newest calamatie, the CT 90 that's got the frozen rod bearing – to this – and glad I saw you mention that 'cable oiler.' I remember back sometime around this time, I managed to find one of those (in China…took over a month to get!) but I've never been able to make it work! Was wondering, as I believe mine is just like yours, can you give a quick lesson on how to use said cable oiler? I can't find anything online! It would be very helpful as I have some rusty cables that still work – but oil would help them I'm sure. I would appreciate if you could make just a short blurb video on one up your upcoming videos on this cable oiler and how to do that!! Thanks in advance!
Love to see you work on that steam roller at the end. Lot of effort in this series, thanks for bringing us all along Mustie.
I just purchased a 1973 xl175. This video is great to learn how to make repairs. thank you! Your an awesome mechanic. Just got a new sub from me.
Well that was satisfying… Thanks Doc
That's a good year! My wife's a 72 model!
What a great series man!
Nicely Done ! If mine broke a gear, I would have scrapped it.
Who needs a Taco — the engine tells you when to change gear 🙂
What do you think the maximum miles of a well maintained SL125 could be?
Looks great ðŸ‘ðŸ»
SL Hondas were and still are such beautiful bikes and the engineering on these bike were so well sorted out. I had a SL 350 in 1972 , and I've has so many other bikes since, but I must say the SL 350 was the best. Your SL125 look great and I'm sure by the time you finish, it will be a lovely nostalgic bike. Love your work
I love this old bike, unfortunately so do many other people, and the price reflects that demand. Perhaps, if I'm patient I too will find a 'fixer upper' that can be resurrected. Great job, Mustie1!
I think the higher compression off sets the larger front sprocket.
Very interesting build, who knew that a simple little bike like that could shake out so many issues. Might wanna run some split ring washers on them exhaust studs and that should solve your loosening issue. All in all a very enjoyable sunday watch…As always thanks for inviting me along…
Thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with you in the garage for this one. Had a few laughs as well. All in fun. I had a couple of SL 70s back in the day. Keep it going. Thanks.
Lo felicito don Darren
Watched the whole series, the haters can get bent.
i wish i lived next door
Note OL on the multimeter stands for “open loop†or high impedance.
Speedometer cable noise – usually the noise comes from the cable. I pull them out, clean them and re grease them. No more noise or hopping speedometer.
Ohms – measurement of resistance, definition. E= I times R ( Voltage = current in amps times Resistance in ohms equals voltage in volts)so R = E/I. You can solve for any of these if you know the other two – basic algebra, which they probably do not teach in high school, anymore, since it might be racist.
That's a damned fine looking bike to be as old as it is and a barn find. Great work man.
Dielectric, insulating material or a very poor conductor of electric current. When dielectrics are placed in an electric field, practically no current flows in them because, unlike metals, they have no loosely bound, or free, electrons that may drift through the material. Instead, electric polarization occurs.
Used to own one back in 1974 in uk,lovely first bike.i was only16 at the time.
Because of the frame saddle shape of the tank, how will the gas flow from the side of the tank that doesn´t have a petcock valve to the carburator? Looks like one could runout of gas with gas in the tank.
I really enjoyed watching all the videos of this bike , particularly the way you took the time to secure the engine so you could disassemble the transmission, and the idea of placing the gears on nails driven on a plank to make it look like the actual shafts.
And so far so good electric bikes no registration
The end of the Honda bike build I just love the way they've gone so far with electric bikes you can get electric bike for a thousand bucks and do the same thing as that bike
Anyone else been binge watching these videos for the last 4 days?
I'm sure that ferret was impressed thats why he ran out in front of you
Man yr videos are awesome!!
Bet the higher compression helps
Great video, nice to see the old Fordson Roller complete with the Trembler Coil ignition, these are very rare in the UK
I got a scar from the front brake handle. Had a hole in my leg years ago. So that ball don't stop it.
Is that the next project, the steam roller?
This is an excellent project! Meaty and worthwhile. Really great job. You're a great teacher and it's fun to hang out with you–it's almost like being there. Keep up the great work and thanks for having us along for the ride!
She's so purdy now, great job Mustie!
